    • A single photographic subsystem (2) photographs an original image for a hologram and provides an image information file (Fp). In addition, this subsystem provides a management information file (Fm) for storing management information about the image information file (Fp). An image processing section (4) generates a composite image file (Fs) by applying specified image processing to the image information file (Fp) and the management information about the management information file (Fm) provided from the single photographic subsystem (2) via a transmission system (3a). A hologram printer (5) receives the composite image file (Fs) generated in the image processing section (4) and prints a holographic stereogram based on this composite image file (Fs).

    • An image data generating method for generating image data corresponding to a planar holographic stereogram is provided , in which a parallax image string imaging system for producing a parallax image string may be reduced in size and in which there is no necessity for using a larger image angle of the imaging device and unneeded image data may be diminished to enable effective data utilization. An image data converting method is also provided in which image data of an image recorded on a holographic stereogram may be promptly produced from plural images from which the holographic stereogram is derived. First, an object or an imaging device is rotated, while the distance between the object and the imaging device is kept substantially constant, for shooting plural images of different viewing angles by the imaging device. The image data of plural images as shot is then corrected for keystone distortion. The image data corrected for keystone distortion is then processed with viewing point conversion processing for converting the viewing point for generating image data of images recorded on the holographic stereogram. In addition, image data including the information for plural images is compressed for storage in the internal storage device of the computer. With the image data having been read into the internal storage device, only the image data of an image required for image data conversion processing of generating image data of the image recorded on a holographic stereogram is expanded for executing image data conversion processing operations.

    • A method and an apparatus for creating a holographic stereogram are provided for offering an optically equivalent effect to that obtained by locating a mask on a hologram recording medium, without having to locate the mask on the hologram recording medium, and thereby realizing a high-quality hologram without having to complicate the area around the hologram recording medium. The creating method is executed to display an image at a co-ordinate location of the hologram recording medium (30) on a display unit (41), condense a laser beam transmitted through the display unit on the co-ordinate location of the hologram recording medium as an object beam and apply part of the laser beam before transmission through the display means onto the hologram recording medium as a reference beam, and sequentially form the stripped or dotted holographic elements on the hologram recording medium. In this method, a diffuser panel (42) is located close to the display unit for diffusing the beam. A mask (43) having an opening (43a) is located downstream of the display unit and the diffuser panel. The opening corresponds to each holographic element. The object beam is condensed and then is transmitted through the mask (43). Then, the transmitted beam is re-condensed through an optical system (45, 46) and is applied onto the hologram recording medium.
