摘要： A system for focusing a multiplexed beam includes OAM signal processing circuitry for generating a multiplexed OAM multiplexed signal. A plurality of antennas comprises an antenna array. An antenna array control circuit controls transmission of the multiplexed OAM signal from each of the plurality of antennas in the antenna array. The antenna array control circuit generates control signals to cause the antenna array to transmit the OAM multiplexed signal from each of the plurality of antennas of the antenna array toward a focus point as a transmission beam and controls a timing of the transmissions of the OAM multiplexed signal from each of the plurality of antennas of the antenna array to cause the transmitted OAM multiplexed signals to arrive at the focus point at substantially a same time.

摘要： An apparatus for performing an endoscopic procedure for detecting cancerous tissue includes a detection probe for detecting the cancerous tissue. The detection probe includes a first fiber for emitting an ultraviolet light beam having an orthogonal function applied thereto and a second fiber for receiving emissions from tissues responsive to the ultraviolet light beam emitted for the first fiber. An ultraviolet emission source generates the ultraviolet light beam. Orthogonal function circuitry applies the orthogonal function twist to the ultraviolet light beam. Detection circuitry detects fluorescence and orthogonal function within the emissions from the tissues received over the second fiber.

摘要： A communications system includes a transmitter for transmitting an optical signal including a plurality of data streams over an optical communications link. The transmitter includes first signal processing circuitry for processing each of the plurality of input data streams to generate a parallel pair of data streams including an in-phase stream (I) and a quadrature-phase stream (Q) for each of the plurality of input data streams. The first signal processing circuitry modulates a first and second parallel pair of data streams with a selected one of at least three mutually orthogonal functions at a first and second signal widths, respectively, to generate a plurality of first data sub-layers and a plurality of second data sub-layers and generates a plurality of composite data stream by overlaying the first data subs-layers with the second data sub-layers at a preconfigured overlay offset. Second signal processing circuitry places the plurality of composite data streams on a wavelength of the optical communications link. Each of the plurality of composite data streams having a different orbital angular momentum associated therewith to enable transmission of each of the plurality of composite data streams on the wavelength at a same time.

A plurality of composite data stream are generated by overlaying the first data subs-layers with the second data sub-layers at a preconfigured overlay offset. The plurality of composite data streams are overlapped by a predetermined overlap amount and placed on a wavelength of a communications link. Intersymbol interference is controlled between the plurality of composite data streams responsive to the predefined modulation process used to create the first and second data sub-layers.
