    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which prevents a handset from being detuned and reduces an effect caused by a ground plane so as not to fluctuate performance properties of an antenna. SOLUTION: A handset comprises first and second enclosures pivotally joined to permit the rotation of one enclosure relative to the other enclosure. An embedded antenna 78 is disposed in an upper part of the ground plane formed in a printed circuit board 156 in the first enclosure. The second enclosure also includes a ground plane. A feed terminal 80 and a ground terminal 82 which are formed on the printed circuit board 156 are joined to meanderline conductors 84, 86, and further, a feed terminal 88 and a ground terminal on a radiating element 79 of the embedded antenna 78 are connected to limit field coupling between the ground plane and the feed terminal in the second enclosure, thereby reducing detuning.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of reducing as much as possible the value of a specific absorption ratio (SAR) of electromagnetic waves when a user of a handset uses the communication device adjacently, to eliminate as much as possible the possibility that the user is affected by the radio frequency energy emitted from the handset.
      SOLUTION: The communication device operative in proximate relation to a user to transmit and receive radio frequency signals includes a radio frequency signal radiating element 94, a ground plate 91 spaced apart from the radiating element 94 by a specified distance and operative in conjunction with the radiating element 94, and a conductive component 108 which is disposed proximate the radiating element 94 and reduces the energy emitted in a direction toward the user. Further, in the communication device, with respect to the energy emitted from the radiating element 94, the SAR of electromagnetic wave to the user can be reduced by inducing a current to the conductive component 108 and forming a great current distribution in a direction away from the user.
