    • A multiple images display system includes a plurality of image data input portions, for receiving image data from a plurality of image sources, a display device for simultaneously displaying all of the received image data, an external action input portion, a frame memory for storing the image data received by the image data input portions, a transfer portion, and a detector, for detecting the sum of the input data transmission rates for the image data that are received by the image data input portions. In addition, a comparator compares the sum obtained for the input data transmission rates with a data transmission rate for the frame memory, a priority allocation portion determines and allocates display priorities for the image data sets to be displayed on the display device in accordance with the external action, and a control portion controls the display, on the display device, of the received image data sets in accordance with the display priorities and the result obtained by the comparison of the data transmission rate for the frame memory with the sum detected for the input data transmission rates.

    • A horizontal synchronizing signal is applied as a reference signal and a voltage-controlled oscillator outputs a display clock signal on the basis of the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal. The frequency of the display clock signal is frequency-divided in accordance with a frequency-dividing value selected from among a plurality of frequency-dividing signals stored in advance, the difference in frequency between the frequency-divided display clock signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal and the phase difference between them are obtained by a phase comparator, and the frequency of the signal outputted by the voltage-controlled oscillator is decided in dependence upon the frequency difference. In an interval in which a vertical synchronizing signal turns off and the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal fluctuates, the reference signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal input to the phase comparator are held fixed to prevent a fluctuation in the outputted display clock.

    • A motion detector detects a line where change of image data has occurred, and a line selector selects the line where display is to be updated, based on the motion detection. A .gamma. converter performs .gamma. conversion on the input data with a predetermined .gamma. value and obtains converted data. A memory controller partially updates display on a display device with display data of the line selected by the line selector, among display data suitable to the display device generated based on the converted data. If the .gamma. value of the .gamma. converter is switched, the display data generated based on the converted data obtained from .gamma. conversion after the switchover of the .gamma. value display on the display device is updated for at least one frame.

The correction circuit carries out correction of the pixel signal with a correction value corresponding to the amount of electrons shielded by the shielding member among electrons to be irradiated to the light emitting region and correction with a correction value in which the amount of electrons irradiated from the shielding member to the light emitting region.
