    • An improvement in silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support is disclosed. The improvement is that chemically sensitized silver halide grains contained in at least one of the emulsion layers have a distinct stratiform structure having substantially two parts comprising an inside core part and a shell part of the uppermost layer, wherein the inside core part of said grains is composed of silver halide containing 10 to 45% by mol of silver iodide, the shell part of the uppermost layer of the grains is composed of silver halide containing 5% by mol or less of silver iodide, and the emulsion containing silver halide grains having the distinct stratiform structure have an average silver iodide content of 7% by mol or more. The materials have high sensitivity, low fog and excellent graininess.

    • A method of processing an image-wise exposed silver halide color photographic material is described, having on a support at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, the total amount of silver iodide contained in the light-senstive silver halides in said light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers being higher than 4.0.times.10.sup.-3 mole/m.sup.2, which comprises processing the color photographic material further containing in a protective layer thereof a super fine grain silver halide, having a mean grain size of less than 0.2 .mu.m and having a silver iodide content of less than 3 mole %, in an amount of from 50 to 140 mole % of the total amount of silver iodide contained in the light-sensitive silver halides, by a color development process including a step subjecting the material to a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, an alkaline earth metal atom, a quaternary ammonium group, a quaternary phosphonium group, an amidino group, or a group represented by ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic residue; and m represents an integer of 2 to 4; or a strong acid salt thereof.

    • A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having a plurality of silver halide emulsion layers positioned thereon. The material includes at least one silver halide emulsion layer having a particular sensitivity and color sensitivity, and a second silver halide emulsion layer having the same color sensitivity but having a greater sensitivity with respect to light, the second layer including a silver halide having a silver iodide content in the range of 9% by mol to 15% by mol. The material includes a DIR compound in a layer other than the second silver halide emulsion layer. The DIR compound releases a diffusible development inhibitor or precursor thereof by a coupling reaction. The resulting material has greatly improved granularity and sharpness.
