    • An information providing system is provided. An in-vehicle apparatus is provided in a vehicle. The in-vehicle apparatus receives a broadcasting. An information providing apparatus transmits area information related to a broadcast channel that is receivable in a traveling area of the vehicle to the in-vehicle apparatus. A storage unit stores the area information for each traveling area. A receiving unit receives probe information including a predetermined reference position or a position of the vehicle from the in-vehicle apparatus. A deciding unit decides a reference area set including a plurality of traveling areas which are within a predetermined distance from the reference position included in the received probe information for each vehicle. An accumulating unit accumulates the received probe information. A determining unit determines a traveling record of the vehicle in each traveling area on the basis of the accumulated probe information. An update unit updates the reference area set on the basis of the traveling record. A transmitting unit transmits the area information corresponding to the reference area set before the update to the in-vehicle apparatus corresponding to the reference area set when the update unit has not yet performed the update, and transmits the area information corresponding to the reference area set after the update to the in-vehicle apparatus corresponding to the reference area set when the update unit has performed the update.

    • A database construction system constructs a database storing broadcast channels which are receivable in each area. A receiving unit receives probe information from a plurality of broadcast receiving apparatuses, the probe information including reception intensity of each of the broadcast channels and positions of the broadcast receiving apparatuses. An information storage unit stores the probe information received by the receiving unit. An extracting unit extracts the probe information with the same broadcast channel as that of new probe information, which is the probe information newly received by the receiving unit, among the probe information transmitted from a transmission area of the new probe information, from the information storage unit. A determining unit determines whether the new probe information is valid on the basis of the reception intensity included in the probe information extracted by the extracting unit and the reception intensity included in the new probe information. A database update unit updates the database using the new probe information that is determined to be valid by the determining unit.

    • The present invention relates to a water dispersion for ink-jet printing including two kinds of carbon blacks (a) and (b) and a water-insoluble polymer which adheres to a surface of the respective carbon blacks (a) and (b), wherein the carbon black (a) has an acid group content of from 0 to 200 μmol/g and the carbon black (b) has an acid group content of more than 200 μmol/g but not more than 1000 μmol/g, and a difference between acid group contents of the carbon blacks (a) and (b) is from 100 to 1000 μmol/g, and a water-based ink for ink-jet printing which contains the water dispersion. The water-based ink is excellent in image density, fixing property, high lighter fastness, image uniformity, ejection reliability and storage stability.

    • The present invention is directed to a water dispersion for ink-jet printing which realizes sufficient optical density and exhibits excellent filterability and storage stability; a water-based ink containing the water dispersion; and a process for producing the water dispersion or the water-based ink. The invention includes the following: (1) a water dispersion for ink-jet printing containing anionic colorant particles and cationic polymer particles, and a water-based ink for ink-jet printing containing the water dispersion; (2) a process for producing a water dispersion for ink-jet printing including a step of mixing a water dispersion of anionic colorant particles with a water dispersion of cationic polymer particles, to thereby produce a water dispersion of composite particles formed of the cationic polymer particles and the anionic colorant particles adhering thereto, and a water dispersion produced through the production process; and (3) a process for producing a water-based ink for ink-jet printing including step (A) of mixing a water dispersion of cationic polymer particles with a water-soluble organic solvent, or dispersing a cationic polymer in water and a water-soluble organic solvent, to thereby produce a dispersion containing the cationic polymer particles, water, and the water-soluble organic solvent; and step (B) of mixing the produced dispersion with a dispersion containing anionic colorant particles and water.
