    • An ignition timing controlling device for an internal combustion engine includes a reference position signal generating circuit for generating a reference position signal each time the rotational angular position of a crank of an internal combustion engine reaches a reference angular position. A pressure indicating signal generating circuit generates a pressure indicating signal indicative of an internal pressure of a combustion chamber of the engine. A peak detecting circuit generates a pressure indicating peak value, a position signal indicative of a maximum peak value and a position of the pressure indicating signal after generation of a reference position signal until generation of a next reference position signal. An ignition instructing circuit is provided for instructing ignition at an ignition angle corresponding to the pressure indicating peak value and the position signal. The ignition instructing circuit delivers an ignition instruction at an ignition timing depending upon a history of change of the pressure indicating peak position while the rate of change of the pressure indicating peak value is low. The ignition instructing circuit delivers an ignition instruction at an ignition timing independent of the pressure indicating peak position when the engine is operating at a low speed and the rate of change of the pressure indicating peak value is high.

    • A support shaft is fixed to a casing of a transmission. A main shaft is relatively rotatably fitted to an inner periphery of the support shaft with a needle bearing interposed therebetween, and a clutch hub is relatively rotatably fitted to an outer periphery of the support shaft. An annular groove is defined around the outer periphery of the support shaft and divided into an oil discharge groove and an oil supply groove by a pair of weirs. An oil supplied from an oil passage is supplied to a canceller oil chamber through the oil supply groove and oil holes in the clutch hub. The oil in the canceller oil chamber is discharged through the oil holes, the oil discharge groove, oil passages in the support shaft, the needle bearing and oil passages in the main shaft. Thus, it is possible to quickly supply and discharge the oil into and from the canceller oil chamber in the hydraulic clutch, thereby preventing a failure of engagement of the hydraulic clutch at the starting of an engine at a low temperature and a dragging of the hydraulic clutch after the starting of an engine.

    • A hydraulic control apparatus for a hydraulically operated vehicular transmission has control valves corresponding to hydraulic engaging elements provided in the transmission. The supply and discharge of hydraulic oil to and from the corresponding hydraulic engaging elements are controlled by the control valves. The hydraulic control apparatus has an oil supply passage which is connected to a hydraulic oil source and into which a throttle is interposed. The oil supply passage is connected to oil passages which are on a downstream side of each of the control valves and which are to be communicated with the hydraulic engaging elements. Check valves are interposed in the oil supply passage to allow for the hydraulic oil flow only from the oil supply passage to the oil passages on the downstream side of each of the control valves.
