    • An electrical connector to be detachably fitted with a mating connector, including a plurality of contacts, a housing for arranging and holding the contacts, and a shell covering the housing and forming with the housing a fitting opening for the mating connector. The shell has at least one engaging piece, and the housing has an anchoring portion at a location corresponding to the engaging piece to cause the anchoring portion to engage the engaging piece, thereby restraining the housing from being displaced in the direction opposite to the fitting direction upon fitting with the mating connector. Even being miniaturized, the electrical connector is securely positioned relative to the mating connector when fitting with it, and the housing is securely prevented from being displaced upon the mating connector abutting against the housing, thereby completely preventing any defective connection.

    • An electrical connector includes a receptacle connector and a plug connector. A first fixture and a second fixture are each arranged on at least one end in the longitudinal direction of the receptacle and plug connectors, respectively. The first and second fixtures each have connection portions to be connected to a respective substrate. The first and second fixtures include at least three engaging portions and at least three anchoring portions, respectively. The engaging portions and anchoring portions are adapted to engage each other. At least one set of the engaging and anchoring portions engaged each other is caused to be in electrical continuity to use as a power supply connection. The electrical connector thus constructed is capable of sufficiently withstand any accidental external force when being fitted, and is also capable of ensuring a power supply connection without using many terminals, while keeping narrower pitches of conductors, and miniaturization and reduced overall height of the electrical connector.

    • An electrical connector is miniaturized and reduced in profile height, yet maintains strength and connection stability, uses elastic fixtures as a power source and provides stable fitting. When connectors are fitted with each other, a first contact of an elastic first fixture is brought to contact a second contact of a second fixture to be used as a power source. An inclined portion of a receptacle contact and an inclined portion of an insertion hole of a housing are formed roughly in the same shape to adjust support of the receptacle contact and provide stable connection. A first chamfered portion of the receptacle contact engages a recess of a plug contact to produce a clicking feeling. The first chamfered portions are positioned and brought to contact the recesses so the plug contact is held between a contact portion and an elastic portion of the receptacle contact.

In assembling, after the pivot member is set in the housing so that protrusions provided in the housing are fitted in slits formed in the pivot member, the shell is fitted on the housing to push the pivoting member into the predetermined position.

    • A card connector for a plurality of memory cards includes a housing having a plurality of inserting holes for the memory cards, respectively. The card connector includes a swing member made of an elastic metal plate and having fixing portions and a swing part in the form of a hollow square rod having extending portions extending into the inserting holes when the swing member is fixed in the housing. A partition wall between the inserting holes is formed with a rectangular notch and slits in opposite faces of the rectangular notch for press-fitting the fixing portions of the swing member, respectively. When one memory card is inserted into one inserting hole, the inserted memory card causes the swing part to be further extended into another inserting hole, thereby preventing another memory card from being inserted into the another inserting hole.
