    • Provided is a head-up display having a prism sheet interposed between a display device and the position of an observer's eye. Control is extended so that points from which light rays having different wavelengths emerge are made different by a predetermined distance from each other so as not to form images at different points by light rays from a point source, relative to the difference between the wavelengths. Otherwise, a distance to an image in a vertical direction is made shorter by a predetermined distance than a distance thereto in a horizontal direction. The vertical angle of each of prisms included in the prism sheet is asymmetrical to a normal to the surface of the prism sheet.

    • A vehicular display apparatus displays, as an unreal image at an on-road position in front of a vehicle, a bar-shaped image that indicates a distance from the on-road position to a spot for right/left turn in a guidance route. The unreal image is generated by using a liquid crystal panel via a windshield and seen by a driver by designating a display position of the bar-shaped image on the liquid crystal panel based on a distance from the vehicle to the spot and the distance from the on-road position to the spot. Further, based on an instruction operation of the driver, the display of the bar-shaped image is switched between (i) a first image and (ii) a second image, which is more blurry than the first image.

    • A display device of the present invention is mounted on an automotive vehicle. An obstacle located in front of the vehicle is detected by a camera, and its features including speed, distance, size, etc. are analyzed by electronic circuits. An image showing the features of the front object is outputted from a liquid crystal panel. The outputted image is reflected on the windshield, displaying a virtual image to a driver. The virtual image is displayed in a form of a spot encircling the front obstacle seen through the windshield. The ways of displaying the encircling spot are variously changed according to a degree of collision danger that is determined according to a period in which the vehicle reaches the obstacle. For example, if the degree of collision danger is high, the spot is shown in red-orange color and/or with a high brightness. Thus, the driver easily recognizes the front obstacle in a high degree of collision danger.
