SOLUTION: The grinding machine includes a column 101 extruding upward from a bed 100, a table 102 formed to be turnable around a pair of upper and lower vertically directed support shafts 11, 12 disposed between an upper side shaft support part 101b of the column 101 and a lower side shaft support part c1 located just below the shaft support part 101b, a workpiece holding means 103 rotatably supporting a workpiece disposed on the table 102 via a main spindle 23 which is coaxial thereof, and a grinding wheel mechanism part 104 rotatably supporting the grinding wheel 43 for grinding the workpiece held by the workpiece holding means 103.
