    • It is an object of the present invention to maintain a generation-preventing effect of a relative slip between a disc support surface and a disc member even when dust attaches to a surface of an elastic layer provided on the disc support surface of a turntable, and to suppress a surface deflection when the disc member rotates when the elastic layer is provided on the disc support surface. Provided is a turntable for rotatably supporting a disc member on a disc support surface in a state where the disc member is sandwiched and held between the turntable and a clamp member placed opposite thereto, wherein the disc support surface is provided with an elastic layer having a predetermined width, and configured to project from the disc support surface, and at least one of an outer peripheral part and an inner peripheral part of the elastic layer is provided with a high contact pressure portion of which a contact pressure generated by pressing the clamp member thereto is higher than that of other portion.

    • By connecting correction information storing means to an exterior computer, such as a personal computer, and then utilizing the personal computer as a second image storing means, it is possible that correction information is read from the correction information storing means and M value gradation image data is read from the second image storing means, to reproduce the read M value gradation image in a state where position errors at connection part has been corrected In addition, since image data having N value smaller than M value is stored in a first image storing means that is required to be installed as an inner memory, it is possible to suppress the storage capacity of the first image storing means. As a result, the invention provides an image processing apparatus capable of reading gradation image with reduced memory costs of storing means.

    • A charging device for charging a moving photoconductor. The charging device includes a charging member, an electric power supply for applying a voltage to the charging member, and a light exposing device, such as a LED for exposing surfaces of the charging member and the photoconductor in a closing region where the surfaces of the charging member and the photoconductor move closer to each other. The charging member is a blade having a transparent layer for guiding a light beam from the LED to the closing region and a shading layer for shading the light beam to a contacting region and a separating region. The contacting region is where the surfaces of the charging member and the photoconductor contact, and the separating region is where the surfaces of the charging member and the photoconductor gradually separate from each other. The LED is disposed in the vicinity of an end of the transparent layer opposite to the other end in the closing region in a section parallel to the moving direction of the photoconductor.
