    • A tape recorder provided with a controlling mechanism comprising a rockable control lever, a head support lever for supporting a magnetic head and a pinch roller support lever for supporting a pinch roller mounted rockably and coaxially with each other, a first spring stretched between said control lever and the head support lever to shift the magnetic head toward the tape accompanying the rocking motion of the control lever, and a second spring stretched between said control lever and the pinch roller support lever to shift the pinch roller toward the tape accompanying the rocking motion of the control lever, at least one of said first and second springs being charged with a returning force accompanying the magnetic head and the pinch roller shifting toward the tape.

    • An operating lever apparatus for use in combination with a tape recorder which may be set to various modes according to various electric signals from a signal generating means, comprises a first base plate, a second base plate disposed parallel to the first plate, a playback lever disposed between the plates and being movable between a first and second positions along the plates, the lever causing, upon arriving at the second position, the means to generate a first signal for setting the playback mode, a recording lever disposed between the plates and being movable between a first and second positions along the plates, the lever causing, upon arriving at the second position, the means to generate a second signal for setting the recording mode, a stop lever disposed between the plates and being movable between a first and second positions along the plates, a first auxiliary lever disposed between the plates and being movable between a first and second positions along the plates, the lever holding the playback lever in the second position while remaining at the first position and releasing the playback lever upon arriving at the second position, and a second auxiliary lever disposed between the plates and being moveble between a holding and releasing positions along the plates, the lever holding the recording lever in the second position while remaining at the holding position, and moving from the holding position to the releasing position as the stop lever moves from the first position to the second position, thus releasing the recording lever from the second position and then moving the first auxiliary lever from the first position to the second position and finally releasing the playback lever from the second position.

    • There is obtained an energy storage mechanism, for a switching device, that has a structure requiring no high-accuracy components and can perform release of driving-power transmission and re-engagement. In the case where the closing spring 22 is energized, the main gear 5 is rotated by the energy storage motor 3 or manually, via the output gear 16 and the intermediate gear 33; in the case where the closing spring 22 has been energized, the engagement between the intermediate gear 33 and the main gear 5 is released at a missing-tooth portion 34 of a gear B; in the case where the switching device is closed, the main gear 5 is rotated by restoration force exerted by the closing spring 22, and the intermediate gear 33 is separated from the main gear 5 due to the elongated hole 35 that supports the rotation axle 25 thereof; and in the case where the closing spring 22 is energized again, the intermediate gear 33 is again engaged with the main gear 5 due to the elongated hole 35 that supports the rotation axle 25 thereof.
