    • A magnet device includes two sets of static magnetic field generation sources spaced from each other in the vertical direction such that the uniform magnetic field region (patient space) is between then. Each set has concentric current carrying coils to generate a uniform magnetic field in a first direction (the vertical direction). Several such coils are used in each set, disposed such that when a first axis which is parallel to the first (vertical) direction and passes substantially through the centers of the current carrying coils crosses, at a first point, a second axis which is orthogonal to the first axis and is at substantially equal distance from the respective static magnetic field generation sources, the current carrying coils are disposed in such a manner that when geometrical centers of cross sections of the current carrying coils are projected on a first straight line that is in a first plane containing the first axis, the second axis and the first point and passing through the first point, the directions of the currents of the carrying coils at the respective corresponding projections align alternatively in positive and negative directions on the first straight line.

    • A small-sized high-precision superconducting magnet apparatus which can prevent an occurrence of the principal factor in generating a quench and can restrain the magnetic flux from varying with time, and a method of regulating the magnetization of such a superconducting magnet apparatus, by which the superconducting magnet apparatus can be uniformly magnetized. Superconducting magnet apparatus of the present invention has: a cooling container; a holding medium for holding a persistent current therein, which is placed in said cooling container and is operative to generate a magnetic flux in a uniform magnetic field region (FOV); static-magnetic-field generating means composed of a plurality of cylinders using superconducting composite plate materials; a cylinder supporting base for holding the plurality of cylinders; and temperature regulating devices (not shown in FIG. 67) embedded in the cylinders, respectively. Magnetization of the static-magnetic-field generating means is performed by induction-magnetizing. Further, the regulation of a magnetization value of the static-magnetic-field generating means is regulated by controlling the temperature of the cylinders by means of the temperature regulating devices.

    • A document reading unit performs a first reading mode for generating image data by reading a document fed by ADF and a second reading mode for generating image data by reading a document set on platen. A first reading receiver receives a first reading instruction to cause the document reading unit to continue reading a plurality of documents in the first reading mode when a jam is detected. A second reading receiver receives a second reading instruction to continue reading the plurality of documents in the second reading mode after the reading of the plurality of documents is continued in the first reading mode by the document reading unit. The document reading unit continues reading the plurality of documents in the first reading mode when the first reading instruction is received and continues reading the plurality of documents in the second reading mode when the second reading instruction is received.

    • A vehicle maintenance system comprises: at least one customer's terminal; at least one dealer's terminal; a customer vehicle terminal associated with the customer's terminal; and a maintenance center terminal including a control server, all terminals mutually connected via a communication network to exchange maintenance-related information among the terminals. Accordingly, maintenance-related information including maintenance information, repair shop (dealer) information, and maintenance-reservation management information can be comprehensively unified. Thus, the customer is enabled to make a maintenance reservation without preliminarily getting any dealer information (e.g. regular closing day, location, contact address, how much the service garage is tied up, etc.).
