摘要： A brake device for a friction press having a flywheel for driving a vertical threaded shaft, the flywheel being positioned between a pair of friction discs, the flywheel being driven in one direction or the other by the respective wheels. The brake device has a brake band generally in the shape of a circular arc which is engagable with the circumference of the flywheel at a position between the friction faces of the friction discs. The brake band is normally to be pressed by a tension spring against the circumference of the flywheel at all positions of the flywheel during its up and down movement, and a hydraulic device is provided which usually acts against the tension of the spring, to hold the brake band away from the flywheel but can apply the brake force instantaneously when necessary by ending the action of the hydraulic device.

摘要： A brick-forming vacuum press is provided with a die and top and bottom plungers which are disposed along the same vertical central axis as the die. Spaces which extend from the die and surround the top and bottom plungers are enclosed by chambers formed of sealing cylinders, flexible bowl-like skirts and sealing flanges. A horizontal table is provdided on the die to support a mix-filling charger and a compact-discharging pickup device. A wiper is carried by the pickup device to clean the table when the pickup device is shifted away from the vertical central axis of the press. Controls are provided to automate the filling of the die, press-forming and discharging of the resultant compact.

摘要： A so-called Ziegler catalyst composed of a titanium halide-containing solid ingredient and an organoaluminum compound for the polymerization of olefins can be imparted with greatly improved storage stability by first subjecting the catalytic composition to a pre polymerization treatment and then to a contacting treatment with carbon dioxide and/or carbon monoxide. The catalytic activity is almost unchanged even after storage of the stabilized catalyst for 90 days or longer in nitrogen gas. The stabilized catalyst can also be used advantageously in a continuous-process polymerization of propylene by continuously introducing the monomer carrying the catalyst owing to absence of blocking of the pipe line with the polymer formed in-line.
