摘要： A fixing roller purpose liquid addition-curable silicone rubber composition including (A) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having in one molecule at least two alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms; (B) from 1 part by weight to 30 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having hydroxyl groups at both terminals of the molecular chain; (C) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having in one molecule at least two hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atoms; and (D) a platinum group metal compound in a catalytically effective quantity. The SiH groups in the component (C) is present in an amount of from 0.4 to 5.0 equivalent weight per one alkenyl group in the component (A). This composition is a substantially non-foamable and addition-curable liquid silicone rubber composition, which is therefore suitable for the fixing roller purpose. The composition has a good moldability to a mandrel and enables production of a fixing roller with a silicone rubber layer having superior toner releasability and mechanical strength.

The composition is useful for producing a silicone rubber coating layer on the substrate surface of a curtain air bag. The air bag suppresses leakage of the inflator gas, thus enabling the inflation time to be sustained for a satisfactory period.

The silicone rubber coating layer is prepared by curing a liquid silicone rubber coating composition having the low viscosity required in the coating and excellent adhesion to the air bag base fabric. An air bag base fabric produced by this method is also provided. In this method, an air bag base fabric is produced by preliminarily treating at least one surface of the textile fabric with an organosilicon compound containing an epoxy group and an alkoxy group bonded to a silicon atom in one molecule to prepare a substrate fabric containing about 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of the organosilicon compound, and coating and curing the liquid silicone rubber coating composition of particular formulation on the substrate.

The composition includes: (A) an organopolysiloxane containing two or more alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms within each molecule, (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms within each molecule, (C) an addition reaction catalyst, (D) a finely powdered silica with a specific surface area of at least 50 m2/g, (E) an organosilicon compound containing an epoxy group and a silicon atom-bonded alkoxy group within each molecule, and (F) a compound represented by a general formula: Al(OH)(OCOR)2 (wherein, R represents identical or different, unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups of 1 to 20 carbon atoms). Leakage of the inflator gas when the air bag is in an inflated state is suppressed, enabling production of an air bag that exhibits excellent sustainability of the inflation period.
