The data collector can also evaluate a verification history of the printer based on the plurality of verification records to determine a usage credit for the printer. The usage credit can correspond to a number of authentic replaceable supplies consumed at the printer.

摘要： In one aspect, the invention encompasses a method of document management. A document is printed with a printing device configured to automatically label the document with a machine-readable code. The machine-readable code contains information, and the printing device is in data communication with a database so that the information contained in the machine-readable code on the document is also recorded in the database. The document is scanned with a scanning machine configured to extract at least some of the information from the machine-readable code. Subsequently, some of the information extracted from the machine-readable code by the scanning machine is compared with information in the database to track the document. In another aspect, the invention encompasses a document management system. Such system comprises a printing device configured to print text on documents as well as to automatically print machine-readable code on the documents. The system further comprises a database in data communication with the printing device, and which records the information printed in machine-readable code on the documents. Additionally, the system comprises a scanning machine configured to scan documents and extract at least some information from the machine-readable code, and a processor configured to compare information extracted by the scanning machine with information in the database.

A light source illuminates the original with primary color intensities, for example 21% red, 72% green, and 7% blue. A sensor integrates the reflected intensities to provide a luminance signal. Matrix multiplication to convert to luminance is avoided. In a variation, illumination is provided with 6/19 red, 9/19 green, and 4/19 blue to provide a gray scale image of, for example, business graphics. Such an image has distinguishable variation for colors of equal lightness (L*).

摘要： A liquid electrophotography fluid containment and belt tracking device has a rubber or other elastomeric profile fixed to both edges of a photoconducting belt to provide both belt tracking control and fluid edge effects control. The part of the profile that extends from the inside surface of the belt is used as a tracking rail. A mating profile is machined into the belt rollers to provide tracking control. The part of the profile that extends from the outside surface of the belt is used to seal the edge to the squeegee roller to prevent fluid from moving around the end of the squeegee roller.
