摘要： An enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node of a radio access network stores context information for a user equipment unit which is in a Connected Mode, and initiates a cell update-prompting message which is transmitted the user equipment unit. The stored context information is used by the context-enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node for addressing the cell update-prompting message to the user equipment unit. After the user equipment unit (which is in its Connected Mode) performs the prompted cell update procedure, such user equipment unit (UE) can be paged with a conventional paging message. The invention with its context-enhanced radio network controller (RNC) node is particularly suitable to user equipment units which are in a critical state of the Connected Mode, such as (for example) either a CELL_PCH state or a URA_PCH state of the Connected Mode.

摘要： In a cellular communications network, a measurement report is requested to enable handover conditions to be established. In one approach, a measurement report is based on satisfaction of an event. Signalling for this measurement report includes one or more parameters on the basis of which the event is defined, including a trigger time defining a time period over which the event should be satisfied for the report to be triggered. In one approach, speed dependent scaling is applied to a parameter other than the trigger time, in the defined event. In another approach, a handover scenario, concerning the nature of the cell in which the user equipment is operational, and optionally that of a neighboring cell, governs the definition of a trigger event.

The transmission control method for Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) in a mobile communication system according to the present invention includes receiving an downlink resource assignment message; determining whether configured downlink assignment has been indicated to an HARQ entity since a previously received downlink assignment for a User Equipment's (UE's) Cell-Radio Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) for the same HARQ process; maintaining, if the configured downlink assignment has not been indicated to the HARQ entity, the HARQ process; and processing, if the configured downlink assignment has been indicated to the HARQ entity, the downlink resource assignment message as a resource assignment message for initial transmission.

摘要： A User Equipment (UE) category handling method and an apparatus for handling late version UE category attached to an early release version network in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system are provided. A communication method includes transmitting a terminal capability report message including multiple terminal categories, receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message including a terminal category to be used by the terminal according to serving base station of the terminal, and communicating with the network using the terminal category received from the network. The UE category handling method and apparatus of the present invention allows the UE to report a network-adaptive UE category, thereby avoiding soft buffer problem caused by version information mismatch and facilitating communication with the network without malfunctioning.
