    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an angular velocity sensor that can be readily miniaturized.
SOLUTION: The angular velocity sensor includes a movable section structure 1, having a frame 11, a beam 12, a weight 13, and a post structure 14; and an upper glass substrate 2 and a lower glass substrate 3, arranged so as to sandwich the movable section structure 1. A drive electrode 31 is provided on a surface facing the weight 13 on the lower glass substrate 3, and by causing static electricity to act between the drive electrode 31 and the weight 13, the weight 13 is made to vibrate. Detection electrodes 21-25 are provided on a surface, facing the weight 13 on the upper glass substrate 2, thus detecting changes in an attitude of the weight 13, based on the change in the capacitance between the detection electrodes 21-25 and the weight 13. In one embodiment, a region forming a structure for leading the potential of each electrode to the outside can be reduced, by decreasing the number of electrodes provided at the sensor, thus realizing miniaturization of the sensor.
