    • PURPOSE:To ensure that a printing medium is returned to a normal state at the time of starting printing and enable to enhance print quality, by printing a line in such an order that a spacing cycle for repeating feeding of a printing medium is performed first and then a printing cycle is performed. CONSTITUTION:A reciprocating cyclic action of a printing element is inputted as a dot line count signal (c) into a decimal counting circuit 1, count utputs #1- #3 (h) generated by the circuit 1 are inputted into a gate G1, and count outputs #4-#10 (i) are inputted into gates G1, G3. By outputs from the gates, dot printing 3 is conducted for a 7-dot character in response to the outputs #4-#10, (i) while feeding 2 of the printing medium is conducted through a gate G2 in response to the outputs #1-#10 (i, h), namely, in all the cycle, and a 3-dot space is formed, followed by dot printing, and printing is controlled in this order. Accordingly, the instable condition of the printing medium at the start of dot printing 3 is returned to a normal condition by the spacing cycle, and print quality can be maintained to be high.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the issuing speed of receipts by a method in which both printing for two lines of a receipt and printing for one line of journal paper are made within one cycle of a rotator in a dot printer for ECR. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 1 on a head base 4 is reciprocally moved under the quidance of a guide shaft 5 along a receipt paper 2 and a journal paper 3 by the rocking movement of a rocking lever 8 by the rotation of a rotary disc 6 with a cam groove 6b. In case where the same items are printed on the receipt paper 2 and the journal paper 3 within one cycle, printing is made on the receipt paper in the distance of HS-HT and also printing is made on the journal paper in the distance of HT-HU on the basis of position signals by a micro switch 14. When printing is performed only on the receipt paper, printing is made in the distance HS-HT and even in the distance of HV-HW in the return process, and printing for two lines is made within one cycle. Thus, when printing is performed only on the receipt paper, the printing speed is doubled.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts necessary for the detecting mechanism, eliminate the need of adjusting operation and to effect reduction in the cost by a mechanism wherein a detection plate with at least three different stages of light transmissivity is used an an output signal level of a single photo sensor is detected. CONSTITUTION:A single photo sensor 3c for a start signal is arranged at the center. A detection plate 5 crossing the photo sensor is formed of plastic or glass and composed of an opaque part 5a, a transparent part 5b and a semi- transparent part 5c. Accordngly, a signal level generated from the photo sensors has three levels. By judging the difference in these levels, the signal generated from the photo sensor can be used as a start position signal for printing from the left and that from the right. Further, the length of the semi-transparent part 5c made equal to the printing range eliminates the need of adjusting the lateral relative position of characters printed. Thus, it becomes possible to reduce the number of parts necessary for the detecting mechanism and lower the cost.

    • PURPOSE:To make micromotion by pitch difference and perform high precision position adjustment by furnishing the inside and outside of an adjusting screw installed on a polygon with threads having different pitches, and providing possibility of rotating it externally on a turret spindle. CONSTITUTION:After provisional assembly of a turrent head, the amount C of dislocation of a chuck 14 from the core of a frame 13 is measured. In case the measurement C is for example dislocated to the right, first a small screw 9 and a fixing bolt 7 are held loosened, and an adjusting driver is inserted into a hole 5C in an adjusting screw 5 to rotate it one turn in the direction of arrow R. The adjusting screw 5 is equipped on the inside and outside with threads 5A, 5B having different pitches, so that a polygon 1 makes a micro- motion in the P direction for an amount corresponding to the pitch difference between the threads 5A, 5B on the inside and the outside in association with rotation of the adjusting screw 5. It is thus possible to make adjustment only by turning the adjusting screw 5 left and right while the amount of dislocation C of the core is measured, so that the operation can be done easily, shortly, and precisely.
