    • An image size changing apparatus has a relatively smaller circuitry arrangement for producing a size changed image which exhibits minimum artifacts such as foldover. The image size changing apparatus of the present invention allows image data to be interpolated with a ratio between a visual area determined by pixel data DS0, DS1, and DS2 of an original image and a visual area determined by pixel data DD0 and DD1 of its size changed image, hence yielding the size changed image with less artifacts such as foldover in its relatively smaller circuitry arrangement.

    • A digital broadcast receiver capable of simultaneously inputting packet data of a plurality of channels which may have the same ID is disclosed. A converter converts the PID of stream data inputted from a demodulator into unique PID. The stream data converted by the converter and stream data inputted from another demodulator are multiplexed to a single stream of data. The single stream of data is divided into to-be-decoded packets, first packets having converted PIDs, and second packets inputted from the other demodulator. The converted PID of a first packet is converted to the original PID. The first packets and second packets outputted by the stream divider are separately stored in a memory.

    • An effective video interval detector detects an effective video interval of a digital video signal from an A/D converter, and outputs differential data indicative of the difference between the detected effective video interval and a required video data interval. A video signal supply interval controller produces frequency-dividing ratio control data depending on the differential data supplied thereto and supplies the frequency-dividing ratio control data to a programmable frequency divider to vary its frequency-dividing ratio. An output signal frequency from a voltage-controlled oscillator is now controlled to eliminate the difference between the effective video interval and the required video data interval. Even when a video signal supplying device is connected to a video signal source which produces a video signal having a different horizontal synchronizing frequency, the output signal frequency from the voltage-controlled oscillator can be brought into synchronism with the horizontal scanning frequency of the video signal from the video signal source for thereby enabling the A/D converter to sample the effective video interval in a desired number of samples.
