摘要： An optical fiber laser, according to the present invention, has an optical fiber including a core to which a rare earth element is added and a clad disposed around the core, and also has an excitation light source for emitting excitation light incident on a side of the optical fiber. The optical fiber has a corrugated shape on the outer circumference of the clad along the longitudinal direction thereof; and the optical fiber is wound in a spiral form and is bundled in such a way that adjacent sides of the clad are brought into contact with one another.

摘要： A plurality of light emitting elements 11 are arranged in parallel with a constant pitch to provide a semiconductor laser bar 10. An optical waveguide 20 has a core part 21 for guiding a light emitted from each of the light emitting elements 11 and a cladding part 22 formed around the core part 21. An optical fiber 30 has a core 31 and a cladding 32 formed around the core 31 for confining the light to the core 31. The optical waveguide is bonded to a side surface of the optical fiber 30, and the light emitted from the semiconductor laser bar 10 is inputted to a side surface of the core 31 of the optical fiber 30 via the core part 21 of the optical waveguide 20.

摘要： A lubricating device for a motor vehicle including (a) a power transmission system having rotating members which are all at rest upon stopping of the vehicle, (b) a casing accommodating the power transmission system and storing a lubricating oil, and (c) an oil pump which is driven by the power transmission system and which operates to deliver the oil from the bottom portion of the casing to lubricating points of the power transmission system. An oil reservoir is provided to store a predetermined amount of the oil delivered by the pump, when a delivery amount of the pump exceeds a predetermined value with an increase in the speed of the power transmission system. A bath of the lubricating oil stored in the bottom portion of the casing has a first oil level when no oil is stored in the reservoir such that a portion of the power transmission system is immersed in the bath of the lubricating oil, and a second oil level when the predetermined amount of the oil delivered by the pump is stored in the reservoir such that the lower end of the power transmission system is located above the second oil level.

The heating source heats the rotator. The reflector reflects radiant heat emitted from the heating source. The shield is disposed closer to a longitudinal end portion of the rotator than to a longitudinal center portion of the rotator to shield, between the heating source and the rotator, the radiant heat emitted from the heating source. The shield has a reflectance lower than a reflectance of the reflector. The rotator holder holds the longitudinal end portion of the rotator. The liquid or semi-solid substance has lubricity and adheres to the rotator holder.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a heating device including a heat generator and a resistance value identifier, a body, a resistance value acquisition unit, a detector to detect detachment and attachment of the heating device from and to the body, and an electric power controller. The resistance value identifier corresponds to a resistance value of the heat generator. The resistance value acquisition unit acquires the resistance value from the resistance value identifier. 摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a power controller that starts an examination mode by an external operation. The examination mode detects a temperature-resistance property of a resistive heat generator. The power controller supplies power at a predetermined power duty cycle to the resistive heat generator. The power controller obtains the power supplied to the resistive heat generator and a change in a temperature of the resistive heat generator, that is detected by a temperature detector, while the power controller supplies the power at the predetermined power duty cycle to the resistive heat generator. The power controller calculates the temperature-resistance property of the resistive heat generator based on the power and the change in the temperature that are obtained. The power controller adjusts a power duty cycle at which the power is supplied to the resistive heat generator based on the temperature-resistance property.
