    • A ball-point pen capable of preventing back leakage of ink when the pen is used to write with the ball-point tip above the ink reservoir. The pen has a ball-point tip (15); an ink reservoir (17) and a joint (19) connecting the ink reservoir with the tip for delivering ink to the tip. The joint has a tip-side bore (37a) and reservoir-side bore (33a) connected by a communicating hole (45), for allowing ink to pass from the reservoir-side bore to the tip-side bore. The communicating hole (45) is composed of a large-diameter portion (45b) and a small-diameter portion (45s) connected to the tip-side bore and the reservoir-side bore, respectively, and is eccentric to both bores. A ball 49 having a greater diameter than the bore diameter of the small-diameter portion is disposed to be freely movably in at least a part of a space formed between the rear end of the tip and the large diameter portion when the tip is fitted into the tip-side bore. When the pen is used to write with the tip above the ink reservoir, the ball closes the communicating hole preventing ink from leaking back to the reservoir.

    • A clicking-type writing implement includes a writing element having a writing portion at its distal end, a spring for urging the writing element toward the end, and a clicking rod loosely fitted interlocked with the writing element so as to project from a barrel cylinder. Upon depression of the clicking rod, the engaging rib of a rotor in the barrel cylinder and the engaging bead in the inner cylinder engage with each other, so that the writing element projects and stays projected from a front portion of the barrel cylinder. This clicking-type writing implement also has a so-called double clicking mechanism and a safety mechanism. According to the double clicking mechanism, the clicking rod is projected upon depression and is retracted upon further depression. According to the safety mechanism, when the engaging bead and the engaging rib engage with each other, the projecting state of the writing portion of the writing element is maintained, and when the engaging bead is lifted, the writing element is retracted. No cam surfaces are formed on the inner surface of the barrel cylinder. In the inner cylinder, a cam is formed on the front edge of a cylindrical portion inserted and fixed in the barrel cylinder.

    • A ball-point pen of the present invention is provided which includes: a ball-point pen refill being accommodated in the barrel cylinder and having: a tip with a tip ball held at the front end thereof; an ink reservoir which stores low-viscosity oily ink and has an ink follower provided in the rear end of the ink; and a joint disposed between the tip and the ink reservoir. The joint further includes: a valve chamber holding a ball valve in its inside and communicating with the rear end of the tip; and a ball valve seat disposed on the rear side of the valve chamber for the ball valve in order to prevent backward flow of ink. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a ball-point pen which, without need of any cap, can create dense writing traces free from blotting and unevenness even when a low viscosity oily ink is used.
