摘要： An optical recording medium including a substrate and a photosensitive layer thereon, the photosensitive layer containing as its major ingredients, the combination of a polymeric binder resin and an indolinospirobenzothiopyran compound represented by the general formula (I): ##STR1## where R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkoxymethyl group containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms in the alkoxy group, a hydroxymethyl group or an alkylaminomethyl group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms in the alkyl group. The optical recording medium has a colored image which is very stable against heat and visible light.

摘要： To provide a sheet conveying technique that can realize highly accurate skew correction with an inexpensive and simple apparatus configuration. A sheet conveying apparatus includes: first and second rollers that are arranged in positions different from each other in a direction orthogonal to a sheet conveying direction and can be driven to rotate independently from each other; a first skew detecting unit that is arranged on an upstream side or a downstream side of the first and second rollers in the sheet conveying direction and detects skew of a sheet at first skew detection accuracy; and a second skew detecting unit that is arranged further on the downstream side than the first skew detecting unit in the sheet conveying direction and detects skew of the sheet at second skew detection accuracy higher than the first skew detection accuracy. A skew amount of the sheet is determined on the basis of detection results of the respective first and second skew detecting units. To reduce the determined skew amount, the first and second rollers are driven to rotate independently from each other and convey the sheet.

摘要： According to one embodiment, the image forming apparatus includes, an endless device having a plurality of suction holes, and a negative pressure chamber which communicates with the suction holes, a rotation mechanism which rotates the endless device, a suction mechanism which discharges air in the negative pressure chamber, an opening and closing mechanism which has a switching blade which opens and closes the suction holes, a driving mechanism which moves the switching blade to a first position and a second position, a recording head unit, a supply mechanism which supplies the recording medium to the endless device, and a controller. If the switching blade moves to the first position, the suction holes are shut. If the switching blade moves to the second position, the suction holes communicate with the negative pressure chamber. The controller drives the opening and closing mechanism according to the size of the recording medium.
