    • Optimized object traversal techniques are presented to move an object focus in an intuitive manner in a display interface using a navigational controller. The optimized object traversal enables two-directional movement (e.g., up, down, left, right, or other direction) of the object focus and not confined to a sequential movement order. The optimized object traversal may vary an order of the object focus selection between objects based on a selection path of a user (e.g., which object previously had the object focus). The optimized object traversal techniques use an edge point on the object having a current object focus to identify a next object to receive the object focus. Objects may be identified based on an orthogonal alignment, a distance from the edge point, a container order (e.g., in tie breaking instances) and/or by a coded assignment.

    • A goniometer for measuring an angle of a surface of an object is provided. The goniometer includes a frame with an engagement element configured for engaging the object. A laser generator is carried by the frame and is configured for emitting a laser beam onto the surface of the object when the object engages the engagement element. The goniometer further includes a scale carried by the frame. The laser beam is reflected from the object towards the scale and the scale is configured for indicating an angle of the surface of the object onto which the laser beam is directed when emitted by the laser generator. The object may be a creping blade and the goniometer may be used in order to measure the grind angle of the creping blade.

    • A user interface for a touch-screen display of a computing device is described. The user interface has an edge navigation feature designed to facilitate navigation through digital content items, such as electronic books, in response to user input received via the touch-screen display. This navigation may be to an arbitrary point within the content, or to previously defined bookmarks. The user interface provides a representation of a virtual edge of the content object, such as a book or album. Presentation of this virtual edge, overlaid with bookmark indicators, allows the user to spatially visualize the position of content within the book, and select a desired location or bookmark.
