摘要： There is provided a method by which, when a broadcast receiving device downloads and stores a content with an expiration time from a communication line etc, and a user reproduces the content, an electronic clock for judging the validity of the expiration time is set to a correct time and whether to reproduce the content or not is properly judged by using the correct time. In the method, the user is not allowed to set the electronic clock inside the broadcast receiving device, the clock is not set when the receiving device is started up, and time information is acquired from a broadcast wave or a communication line. If the time information is successfully acquired, the electronic clock is set by the acquired time information and then is used for judging the expiration time for use of the content on the assumption that the clock has been set correctly.

摘要： When download operations get started in unison in conformity to RSS metafile delivery time-and-date information, the traffic is temporarily concentrated to a server, resulting in the risk of a system failure or else. In addition, it is inevitable to periodically check whether an RSS file on Web server is updated or not; so, users must delete update-unnecessary RSS files from those objects to be monitored. In view of this, the periodical update check timing of download control information is dispersed, thereby scattering download requests to the server. The download control information is provided with the information indicating whether such download control information is put under update management and/or expire time-and-date information in case the update management is to be done, whereby an information processing apparatus performs, based on the information, erase processing of the download control information when the download processing is completed.

A receiver has: an interface unit being adapted to download encoded content data and key information for decoding the content data from a communication line; a storage unit being adapted to store the downloaded content data and key information from the interface unit; and a control unit which decodes the content data outputted from the storage unit using the key information. 摘要： An object of this invention is to provide a receiver that downloads a transport stream at a bit rate different from the normal playback rate, attaches to the transport stream timestamps representing a playback timing for playback at the normal rate and then stores the time-stamped stream.
