摘要： A method and apparatus for measuring a color-texture distance and a method and apparatus for sectioning an image into a plurality of regions using the measured color-texture distance are provided. The method of measuring a color-texture distance includes the steps of: assigning different degrees of importance to a brightness difference, a saturation difference, and a hue difference between two points in a color feature space constituted of color feature values of pixels in an image, and adding the brightness difference, the saturation difference, and the hue difference in proportion to the assigned degrees of importance to calculate a color distance between the two points; obtaining a texture distance between the two points using a difference between texture feature values of the two points and weighting coefficients applied to multi scales of a texture, in a texture feature space constituted of texture feature values for the pixels; and multiplying a color weight value and a texture weight value by the color distance and the texture distance, respectively, adding the multiplication results to each other, and obtaining the color-texture distance between the two points. The degrees of importance are determined on the basis that a hue is more important than a brightness or a saturation, a color becomes black as the brightness approaches an absolute value, and the hue has an arbitrary value as the saturation approaches the absolute value.

摘要： An apparatus and method for generating object-labeled images based on query images in a video sequence are provided. A video sequence is divided into a plurality of shots, each of which consists of a set of frames having a similar scene, and an initial object region is extracted from each of the shots by determining whether an object image exists in key frames of the shots. Based on the initial object region extracted from each of the key frames, object regions are tracked in all frames of the shots. Then, the object regions are labeled to generate object-labeled images. Therefore, the object-labeled image generating apparatus and method can be applied regardless of the degree of motion of an object and time required to extract query objects is reduced.

摘要： Provided are an image brightness controlling apparatus and method, and an adaptive brightness controlling apparatus and method based on the brightness degree and/or brightness range of an image. The image brightness controlling apparatus includes a brightness increment arithmetic unit for outputting a brightness increment for a pixel, and an individual component brightness increment arithmetic unit for outputting the brightness increments of individual components constituting the pixel in response to the brightness increment for a pixel. The individual component brightness increment arithmetic unit multiplies the brightness increment of the pixel by each of the unit vectors of the components constituting the pixel to obtain the brightness increments of the individual components. The image brightness controlling apparatus further includes an adder for adding the components constituting the pixel to the brightness increments of the components. The image brightness controlling apparatus and the adaptive image brightness controlling apparatus can maintain the sense of color of an image (e.g., the hue or chroma of an image) while increasing the brightness degree and brightness range of an image.

摘要： The resolution-converting method comprises steps of applying an edge-directed interpolation to an input image and producing an intermediate image; converting a sampling rate with respect to the intermediate image and producing an output image having a predetermined resolution; and improving sharpness of the produced output image. The present invention prevents image-quality degradation factors that can occur in the conventional resolution-converting method as well as obtains an output image having a resolution of a desired size.
