    • A method, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) client, and WLAN Service Node (WSN) that allows an Extensible Authentication Protocol—Subscriber Information module (EAP-SIM) module of the WLAN client, which module may be wither downloaded from the Internet or pre-installed in the WLAN client, to extract user credentials from a Subscriber Information Module (SIM) card, and to package the credentials into the EAP-SIM format and further into the TCP/IP format, before sending them to the WSN via a serving Access Point (AP). The WSN receives the credentials and unpacks them from the TCP/IP format and further from the EAP-SIM format, and authenticates/authorizes the WLAN client. WLAN access is authorized for the WLAN client upon successful authorization.

    • Message routing between a mobile communication network and wireless devices is enabled by establishing a communication session between a mobile router and the mobile communication network which includes the mobile router being assigned an IP address. A wireless device is authenticated to the mobile communication network through the mobile router so that the wireless device is uniquely identifiable to the mobile communication network. A new packet data network (PDN) connection is established between the wireless device and the mobile communication network over the communication session established with the mobile communication network based on an IP address uniquely assigned to the wireless device by the mobile communication network.

    • The present invention relates to a method for closing all network connections to a detached user equipment. The local mobility anchor (LMA) receives and reads a control message saying that the user equipment is detached and all the network connections must be closed. The LMA performs the instructions in the control message, i.e. closes all the network connections to the user equipment. After the instructions have been executed, the LMA sends an acknowledgement back to indicate which actions have been performed. Thus, the closing of all network connections is done using only one message exchange and thereby saving signalling in the Core Network.
