      SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a transmitter, in a communication system having three transmit antennas and two data transmission rates, including a serial/parallel converter for converting modulated serial data into parallel data and outputting them; a time-space block coder (or frequency-space block coder or time-space-frequency block coder) mode decider for deciding a data transmission mode in accordance with channel state information of the antennas fed back from a receiver; and a time-space block coder for transmitting, via a corresponding antenna, the data output from the serial/parallel converter in the data transmission mode decided by the time-space block coder mode decider.
