    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which secures both a high contrast ratio and a wide viewing angle simultaneously, and not only attains a fast response speed of liquid crystal molecules, but also exhibits superior display characteristics.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate which face each other, a liquid crystal layer which is disposed between the first substrate and second substrate and contains liquid crystal molecules, and a first pixel electrode and a second pixel electrode which are arranged on the first substrate and separated from each other. The first pixel electrode and second pixel electrode include stems included in the first pixel electrode and second pixel electrode respectively, and a plurality of branch electrodes extending from the stems. The branch electrodes of the first pixel electrode and the branch electrodes of the second pixel electrode are arranged alternately, the liquid crystal display device has a first region in which intervals between branch parts of the first pixel electrode and adjacent branch parts of the second pixel electrodes are first intervals and a second region in which branch parts of the first pixel electrodes and adjacent branch parts of the second pixel electrode are second intervals, the first region including a region in which neither of the stems of the first pixel electrode and second pixel electrode is arranged at an end of a pixel region.

A branch part of the first pixel electrode and a branch part of the second pixel electrode include a first region where the distance between the branch part of the first pixel electrode and the branch part of the second pixel electrode that are adjacent to each other is relatively large, and a second region where the distance between the branch part of the first pixel electrode and the branch part of the second pixel electrode that are adjacent to each other is relatively small. The branch part of the first pixel electrode and the branch part of the second pixel electrode disposed in at least one of the first region and the second region include a first part having a first angle from a gate line and a second part having a second angle from the gate line.
