      SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device (LCD) includes: a liquid crystal (LD) panel including a polarizing plate disposed on at least one surface thereof; a light guide plate (LGP) disposed below the LC panel and including reflective patterns which reflect light incident on the LGP toward the LC panel; and a composite polarizing sheet disposed between the LC panel and the LGP. The composite polarizing sheet includes a surface layer having a plurality of prism patterns formed in parallel in a first direction and a reflective polarizing layer having a transmission axis oriented in a second direction other than the first direction, wherein the second direction is parallel or perpendicular to a polarization axis of the polarizing plate.

      SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal panel, a light source from which light is emitted, a light guide plate for guiding the emitted light to the direction of the liquid crystal panel, and the prism sheet for collecting the emitted light. The prism sheet comprises a base composed of a front surface and a back surface opposed to the front surface and a plurality of prism mountains formed integrally with the base on the back surface of the base. Each of prism mountains includes a plurality of light incidence surfaces from each of which light enters, and a reflective surface which is arranged adjacently to the plurality of light incidence surfaces and reflects the entered light. An angle formed between the light incidence surface adjacent to the reflective surface and the reflective surface, is 70-100°.
