摘要： An MRI imaging coil assembly includes a primary external MRI imaging coil and a secondary external MRI imaging coil positioned proximate to the primary MRI imaging coil. The primary imaging coil has a plurality of spaced-apart RF coils and is configured to surround at least a portion of a patient. The secondary imaging coil has at least one RF coil and cooperates with the primary imaging coil to provide MRI signals to an MRI scanner. The secondary imaging coil can be movably positioned relative to the primary imaging coil. The secondary imaging coil can be movably secured to the primary imaging coil or to a patient support surface. The coil aasembly may form part of an MRI-guided interventional system comprising a frame secured to the skull of a patient wherein the frame cannula for guiding the placement of an interventional device.

摘要： A head support assembly (10) includes a base (12) configured to be removably- secured to an MRI scanner gantry, a head support frame (14) attached to the base, and a longitudinally extending head coil apparatus (30) adjustably secured to the head support frame. The head support frame includes a pair of elongated arms (18, 20) that extend outwardly in adjacent, spaced-apart, substantially co-planar relationship to form an area for receiving the head of a patient. Each arm includes a respective free end (18a, 20a), and a head engagement rod (40) is adjustably associated with each respective arm free end. The head engagement rods are configured to engage a patient's head within the head support frame. One or more additional head engagement rods may extend outwardly from the head support frame between the pair of arms.

摘要： An MRI-guided interventional system (1100) for use with a body of patient and an interventional device includes a base (1110) and a targeting cannula (1200). The base is configured to be secured to the body of the patient. The targeting cannula has an elongate guide bore (1258) extending axially therethrough and an inlet and an outlet at opposed ends of the guide bore. The guide bore defines a trajectory axis extending through the inlet and the outlet and being configured to guide placement of the interventional device. The frame is operable to move the targeting cannula relative to the base to position the trajectory axis to a desired intrabody trajectory to guide placement of the interventional device in vivo. The inlet tapers (1256) from an outer diameter distal from the guide bore to an inner diameter proximate the guide bore to guide and facilitate insertion of the interventional device into the guide bore.

摘要： An MRI-guided interventional system includes a frame with a cooperating targeting cannula. The frame is configured to be secured to the body of a patient, and is configured to translate and rotate such that the targeting cannula can be positioned to a desired intrabody trajectory. The frame may include one or more MRI-visible fiducial markers that allow frame location/orientation to be determined within an MRI image. A plurality of user-activatable actuators are configured to translate and rotate the frame relative to the body of a patient so as to position the targeting cannula to a desired intrabody trajectory. The targeting cannula includes an axially-extending guide bore therethrough that is configured to guide placement of an interventional device in vivo. Various instrumentation and equipment, such as stimulation leads, ablation catheters, injection catheters, etc., can be inserted through the targeting cannula to execute diagnostic and/or surgical procedures.

摘要： MRI/RF compatible leads include at least one conductor, a respective conductor having at least one segment with a multi-layer stacked coil configuration. The lead can be configured so that the lead heats local tissue less than about 10 degrees Celsius (typically about 5 degrees Celsius or less) or does not heat local tissue when a patient is exposed to target RF frequencies at a peak input SAR of at least about 4 W/kg and/or a whole body average SAR of at least about 2W/kg. Related leads and methods of fabricating leads are also described.
