    • PURPOSE: To provide a processed wire section inspection device in a terminal stripper/crimper machine, which can provide good photographing timing for an image photographing camera, and stabilize an operation taking in an image. CONSTITUTION: The processed wire section inspection device 8 is provided over a reciprocating orbit P between a peeling section and a terminal crimping and processing section. The processed wire section inspection device 8 is equipped with an image photographing camera 11, a lighting means 12, and with a detection means 13. The image photographing camera 11 shall be quick in shutter speed. The lighting means 12 lights a wire end section passing over the reciprocating orbit P at both sides of the photographing path 19 of the photographing camera 11 from the direction roughly identical to the longer direction of a wire, and with optical fibers 22 guiding light to the illuminating section 23 of each lighting section 20. The device is equipped with an outward bound sensor 31 and a homeward sensor 32 which detect the end section of the wire. The detecting position of the outward bound sensor 31 is determined in response to a passing position for the covered end section at a wire end section, which has been stripped and processed. The detecting position of the homeward sensor 32 is also determined in response to the passing position for the intermediate section of the core wire barrel section of a crimp terminal which has been crimped with pressure.

    • PURPOSE:To execute the inspection by a quick and simple processing by deriving a decision value or a reference value by a statistical processing from the number of picture elements shown by a non-defective work, comparing these values and the number of picture elements shown by an inspection work and deciding whether a parts omission exists or not. CONSTITUTION:Plural works confirmed to be a non-defective separately are photographed in advance by television cameras TV1 - TV4, and by binarizing an image signal by an image processor 20, the number of picture elements of the non- defective work is counted, and by bringing the count value to statistical processing, an average value mu and a standard deviation sigma are derived, and mu+ or -3sigma is stored as a decision value. Subsequently, an inspection work is photographed by the same television camera, and by binarizing its image signal, the number of picture elements of the inspection work is counted, and when the number of picture elements of the inspection work deviates from the decision value, it is decided that the inspection work is defective, and in the case of a non-defective, the count value of the picture element of its inspection work is used for calculating the average value mu and the standard deviation sigma and the accuracy of the statistical processing is enhanced. In such a way, an omission inspection can be executed simply, quickly and automatically.
