    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send and receive information by optical communication between an electric vehicle and a connector for charging and allow the connector to comply with a communication protocol in the electric vehicle. SOLUTION: In order to conduct optical communication between a power- receiving section and a connector, each of the power-receiving section and the connector is provided with a light-emitting device and a photodetector. The connector can receive a characteristic optical signal for recognition, emitted from its light-emitting device 17 by its photodetector 18 and the optical signal for recognition becomes a different signal, when the light-emitting devices 17, 24 of both the power-receiving section and the connector emit optical signals for recognition at the same time. Based on this fact, the connector detects a simultaneous transmission and receives and sends information according to the specified priority order and therefore can prevent communication errors due to the overlapping of charging-related information from the light-emitting devices 17, 24. The connector can also comply with a communication protocol, by which information is received and transmitted according to the priority order which is determined among communication circuits.
