    • PURPOSE:To provide the optical fiber cable having a small diameter, high density, excellent transmission characteristic and high reliability by providing a coated optical fiber ribbon with a protective film, arranging tensile bodies on the same plane of the coated optical fiber ribbon and applying an external coating later integrally on the fiber ribbon and the tensile bodies. CONSTITUTION:This optical fiber cable is constituted by arranging the tensile bodies 3 consisting of steel wires, etc., in parallel apart a spacing on the same plane as the coated optical fiber ribbon 1 on both-sides of the coated fibers having a resin protective layer 2 consisting of a resin such as polyamide resin or BPT having >=50kgf/mm tensile strength formed on the outer periphery of the coated optical fiber ribbon 1 and integrally applying the external coating layer 4 of polyethylene, vinyl chloride, etc., on the coated fibers and the tensile bodies, respectively. The optical fiber cable may be otherwise constituted by arranging two lines of the coated fibers applied with the resin protective layers 2 on the outer peripheries of the coated optical fiber ribbons 1 in parallel keeping a space on the same plane, positioning the tensile body 3 between the respective coated fibers and integrally applying the external coating layer of an elliptic shape on these coated fibers and the tensile body.

    • PURPOSE:To superpose or separate a test optical signal on or from a transmission optical signal in each coated optical fiber by providing a multilayered film filter which superposes and separates the test optical signal on and from the transmission optical signal. CONSTITUTION:The transmission optical signal is transmitted to a coated optical fiber 1 or is transmitted reverse on the same route, and the test optical signal is transmitted to a coated optical fiber 1' through a test optical signal port 5 or is transmitted reverse on the same route. A multilayered film filter 6 having a wavelength selectivity is used for superposition and separation between the optical signal used for transmission and that used for test. The transmission optical signal is transmitted from the coated optical fiber 1 to a coated optical fiber 1'' or from the coated optical fiber 1'' to the coated optical fiber 1 through the multilayered film filter 6 and the test optical signal has a wavelength different from that of the transmission optical signal and is reflected by the multilayered film filter 6 to change the direction and is transmitted from the coated optical fiber 1' to the coated optical fiber 1'' or from the coated optical fiber 1'' to the coated optical fiber 1'. Thus, the test optical signal is superposed or separated.

    • PURPOSE:To improve flexibility and to obviate the generation of harmful gases at the time of combustion by enclosing optical fiber cords with aluminum tapes having adhesive layers on both surfaces to adhere the fiber cords to the inside surfaces and coating the entire part with non-halogen flame-retardent polyethylene (PE). CONSTITUTION:Tensile fibers 2 are applied longitudinally along the outer periphery of a coated optical fiber 1 and further a sheath 3 consisting of PVC is applied on the outer periphery thereof to constitute the optical fiber cord. Two pieces of such optical fiber cords are prepd. and are housed into the recessed parts of the laminated aluminum tapes 4 which have a hollow shape in section, are disposed in parallel and have the adhesive layers on both surfaces. The optical fiber cords and the laminated aluminum tapes 4 are not adhered over the entire surface and are adhered and held in the state of line contact. These cords are then integrally coated with the non-halogen flame-retardent PE 5, by which the entire part of the cable is constituted.
