    • PURPOSE:To provide a tape winding-up device capable of spirally winding a thin tape at a high speed while keeping stable tension around a traveling wire. CONSTITUTION:Air blowing-out holes 3 are respectively formed on a shaft portion 1a and flange 1b of a reel shaft 1 to be rotated at a speed according to a tape winding diameter by means of a motor 7. Air makes a tape reel 31 float and bears it so as to have a predetermined rotating resistance. An inverted funnel-shaped flier 10. which is rotated at a constant speed by means of another motor 13, is coaxially disposed in the upper portion of the reel shaft 1. A tape 32 inserted into a guide hole 16 formed on the lower portion of the flier 10 travels under a tape cover 17 stuck to the outer surface of the flier 10, and the tape 32 is introduced around a wire rod 21 moving at a constant speed, via a tape winding-up guide 18 and a tape presser, which are rotated together with the flier 10. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce fluctuation of tape tension due to centrifugal force or an adverse effect of wind. Furthermore, an increase or decrease in rotating speed of the tape reel 31 on the reel shaft 1 by the fluctuation of tension can automatically correct an excess or shortage of a tape delivering quantity inevitably caused by rotation control of the motor 7. Consequently, the tension of the tape can become stable all the time, and winding at a high speed can be realized at a constant pitch.

    • PURPOSE:To control optionally the attitude of a seabed cable layer by a method in which the left and right-handed sleighs of the cable layer are made up of an earth contactor and plural ballast chambers and the inflow of sea water into the ballast chambers is adjusted to control the buoyance of the before and back portions of the cable layer. CONSTITUTION:Sleighs 13 are provided to the left and right sides of the body 12 of a cable layer 10 supporting a plow 17 in a vertically rocking manner, the cable layer 10 is towed by a tug boat, etc., and the seabed is excavated by high- pressure water nozzle provided in the front of the plow 17 to form a cable trench. While laying a cable in the trench, the cable is buried by soil and sand discharged from a soil discharge pipe. The sleigh 13 of the cable layer 10 is made up of a earth contactor 15 and ballast tanks 16 whose inside is divided into four chambers. When settling the cable layer 10, the exhaust valves 39 and 39' of the ballast chambers 31 and 33 from the working base ship, and the sea water is flowed into the ballast chambers controllably to adjust the attitude of the cable layer.

    • PURPOSE:To excavate a wide width of trench even in hard ground by a method in which large numbers of paired high-pressure water nozzles whose tips are V- shaped are arranged with intervals vertically in front of a plow type casing supported in a vertically movable manner on a seabed cable layer and the nozzles are integrally vertically moved. CONSTITUTION:In the rear of a cable layer 12 running on a sleigh 13 along the seabed, a cable guide trough 18 is provided in the upper end opening portion of a plow 16 supported in a vertically rocking manner, and a cable guide pipe 19 is introducted to each trough 18. A water pump 20 is provided on the sleigh 13, and high-pressure water is supplied to high-pressure water nozzles 1 and 1' provided in front of the plow 6. In the high-pressure water nozzles in front of the plow-shaped casing 16, nozzles 1 projecting ina V-shaped form toward the advancing direction and the nozzle 1' in almost parallel with the advancing direction are arranged in plural numbers with intervals, the whole of the nozzles is supported in a vertically movable manner in front of the plow-shaped casing 16, and a cable a is laid while excavating the seabed continuously.
