    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing catalyst fine particles having excellent catalytic activity, and a method for producing carbon-supported catalyst fine particles.SOLUTION: The method for producing the catalyst fine particles each having an inner fine particle and an outermost layer containing platinum and covering the inner fine particle includes processes for preparing a reversed micelle dispersion liquid containing fine particles comprising a first metal oxide without an oxygen defect, and preparing a reversed micelle dispersion liquid containing platinum ions, and a reduction process for mixing at least the reversed micelle dispersion liquid containing fine particles comprising the first metal oxide, the reversed micelle dispersion liquid containing the platinum ions, and a sacrificial agent, and irradiating the mixture with microwaves to reduce at least the surface of the fine particle comprising the first metal oxide, into a second metal oxide with an oxygen defect and to form, on the second metal oxide, the outermost layer containing platinum formed by reducing the platinum ions.
