At least one of the transparent protection films and the polarizing film of the polarizing plate are bonded via an adhesive comprising a water solution containing polyvinyl alcohol resin and alcohol. A method for manufacturing a polarizing plate by laminating transparent protection films on both sides of a polarizing film via adhesives is also provided. At least one of the adhesive comprises a water solution containing polyvinyl alcohol resin and alcohol, and the polarizing film and the transparent protection film are laminated via the water solution adhesive and subsequently dried.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for simply detecting a minute crack existing in a polarization plate.
      SOLUTION: The inspection method of the polarization plate is provided. In the inspection method, one surface of the polarization plate 10 is irradiated with light from a light source 20 so as to have an angle θ of 20-70° to one surface. A magnifying convex lens 50 is disposed so as to be parallel to the other surface on the side of the other surface of the polarization plate 10. In a portion in which the minute crack exists in the polarization plate 10, it is inspected whether the minute crack exists or not by utilizing a characteristic for irregularly reflecting light 30 entering from the light source 20 to the polarization plate 10, and observing the light after it passes through the magnifying convex lens 50. When a heat shock test is conducted in a state that the polarization plate is applied to a glass plate through an adhesive, the minute crack is generated, and it is difficult to identify the minute crack when irradiated with light in the normal direction of the polarization plate. The method is effective to inspect the minute crack of the polarization plate.
