摘要： PURPOSE:To assess a degree of deterioration of coal in a simple process, by forming pulverized low-grade coal under pressure into a columnar shape with a predetermined density, followed by quick dry distillation and burning, classifying it on a rotary drum tester and calculating the weight percentage of particles having a specified size. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized noncaking coal is formed under pressure into a columnar shape with a predetermined density and a consistent moisture content. The formed coal is dry distilled quickly and is burned. The resultant coke is placed in a rotary drum tester and is classified by use of a 1mm. mesh sieve. A percentage ratio of the weight of particles of the tested coke having a particle size of 1mm. or larger to that of coke before testing is calculated and the degree of deterioration is assessed by using their ratio as an index. The method makes it possible to define the degree of deterioration of low-grade coal by oxidation (heat generation) which can not be measured on the basis of maximum fluidity as determined in the fluidity test or total expansivity as determined by expansivity test as specified in JIS M8801.

摘要： PURPOSE:To feed a coke oven with formed coal having a definite powder content from a storage bin at stable rate of feeding independent to the strength of the formed coal, by adjusting the level of the stocked coal in the storage bin according to the strength of the formed coal, temporarily storing the coal, and mixing to a compounded coal. CONSTITUTION:The formed coal discharged from the hopper 9 and transferred by the conveyor 11 is sampled immediately before charging to the formed coal storage bin 10, and measured its strength. The level of the formed coal stored in the storage bin 10 is controlled to a preset level according to the measured strength to maintain the content of powder coal at the outlet of the storage bin. The powder content becomes low in the coal having high strength, and if the strength is the same, the pulverization degree is lowered with lower storage level in the storage bin.

摘要： PURPOSE:To attain to cool coke and to effectively recover the sensible heat of coke, by treating a sludge cake subjected to dehydration treatment by blowing the same into the cooling tower of dry coke extinguishing equipment from the lower part of said cooling tower or a gas recirculating line. CONSTITUTION:Red heat coke charged into a cooling tower 1 from the charging port 2 thereof is cooled by cooling gas rising in the cooling tower 1 while supplied from gas distributor 9 in said tower 2 and steam generated by moisture evaporation of blown sludge and cooled coke is taken out from the bottom part of the tower 1 as low temp. coke. On the other hand, the greater part of the sludge, which is blown into the cooling tower 1 and of which the contained moisture is almost evaporated through the contact with coke, is adhered to the coke lump delivered from the cooling tower 1 in a powdery form and the remainder is included in recirculated gas to be recovered in a cyclone but, because the cell membranes of contamination bacteria in both of them are destructed by the sensible heat of coke, no malodorous odor peculiar to excessive sludge is generated at all.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prepare formed coal which has high strength and hardness and emits no foul odor, by adding pitch having a high softening point and coal tar to a raw material coal, drying the mixt. at normal temp. and forming it into shape under pressure at a low circumferential speed in a double-roll forming machine. CONSTITUTION:10-15% pitch and having a softening point of 100-300 deg.C and 4-8% coal tar are added to a raw material coal. The mixt. is kneaded at normal temp. without steam heating and is formed into shape under pressure at a circumferential roll speed of 0.35m/sec or lower in a double-roll forming machine. The formed coal emits no foul odor, for kneading is done without steam heating and a proper combination of the amt. of the binder and the circumferential speed of the roll of the forming machine produces formed coal with high strength and hardness.
