    • The invention concerns a method and a device for the separation of substantially solid bodies accompanying a liquid flow (60). An obliquely arranged screen grid (10) with an upper region (13), a lower region (14), and two opposite edge regions (11a, 11b) is supplied with the liquid flow at the upper region of the screen grid so as to pass whilst separating substantially solid bodies from the liquid flow to form screenings along the upwards facing surface (15) of the screen grid and/or through the screen grid. A cleaning device (40) having cleaning means (46) rests against the upwards facing surfce (15) of the screen grid and moves the screenings during movement of the cleaning means mainly in the horizontal plane towards the edge regions (11a, 11b), which pass over into connecting means (17a, 17b) situated outside said regions for receiving screenings (50) carried along by the movement of the cleaning means (46). The connecting means have an upwards facing transport surface (12a, 12b) extending along the whole length of the screen grid along which surface the screenings are moved towards the lower part (3) of the device. To facilitate the movement of the screenings (50) the transport surface (12a, 12b) is formed e.g. as a completely smooth surface.

    • A driving device comprising a shaftless spiral (10) rotatable around its longitudinal axis and enclosed by limiting means (20, 59). The limiting means has a first end region (23) and a second end region (24) corresponding to each end of the limiting means. The shaftless spiral encloses a sliding body (30) which is provided with an element (31) projecting from the sliding body, which passes between two adjoining spiral turns (16a,16b) of the spiral and has a part (33a,33b) located radially outside the spiral turns in a slot oriented substantially in the axial direction of the limiting means.
      A driving means (40) rotates the spiral, which moves the sliding body (30) and consequently the projecting element (31) in the longitudinal direction of the spiral.

    • A driving device (1) for substantially linear movement of a driver (29) included in the device comprises a shaftless spiral (10) rotatable around its longitudinal axis. The spiral encloses at least one sliding body (30) which is provided with at least one element (31) projecting from the sliding body which passes between two spiral turns (16a,16b) of the spiral located adjoining one another. The sliding body co-operates by means of elements (31) with an element (60) secured against rotational movement corresponding to the rotation of the spiral which prevents the sliding body during rotation of the spiral from rotating synchronously with the same. An elongated element (22) oriented in the axial direction of the spiral (10) is connected at its one end to the sliding body (30) and at its other end to the element (60) to form the driver (29).

    • An apparatus for the compaction and reduction of liquid content in a material includes at least one floating helice (3) rotatable about its axis by drive means (4,30) and disposed in a casing (2) which, at least along a portion of its extent in the longitudinal direction, completely encloses the helice. In conjunction with the discharge portion of the apparatus, the casing encloses the helice with slight play. Seen in the direction of movement of the material, the discharge portion includes a helice-free region most proximal the discharge opening of the casing, intended for the formation of a counterpressure member which arrests the movement of the material. In this region, the helice is provided with an extension body (100) which reduces the available conveyor surface area. As a rule, the body is a cylindrical hollow body which as a rule is provided with drainage apertures.
