摘要： The invention provides a safety system for a small arms projectile in which an initiating device is impacted by a firing member in order to detonate a main explosive charge. The system requires the firing member to be retained in a safe position in relation to the initiating device by at least two independent mechanisms. The firing member is initially supported in a forward position, in which it assists in holding the initiator device in a safe condition, and is caused to move rearwardly, through inertia, when the projectile is fired, destroying one of the retaining mechanisms and allowing the initiator device to adopt a primed position in which it can be activated by the firing member which at this time is retained by the other retaining mechanism which is automatically released when the projectile is in flight. The initiator device may, when held in its safe condition, be skewed with respect to the main explosive charge and may incorporate or support a shield disposed, in the safe condition, between the initiator device and the main explosive charge.

摘要： La invencion proporciona un sistema de seguridad para un proyectil para armas pequenas en el cual un dispositivo de iniciacion es impactado pro un miembro disparador a fin de detonar una carga explosiva principal. El sistema requiere que el miembro disparador sea retenido en una posicion segura en relacion al dispositivo iniciador por lo menos por dos mecanismos independientes. El miembro disparador esta inicialmente soportado en una posicion delantera, en la cual este ayuda a retener al dispositivo iniciador en una condicion asegurada, y se hace que se mueva hacia atras, a traves de la inercia, cuando el proyectil es disparado, destruyendo uno de los mecanismos de retencion y permitiendo al dispositivo iniciador el adaptar una posicion imprimada en la cual este puede ser activado por el miembro disparador el cual a su vez es retenido por el otro mecanismo de retencion el cual es liberado automaticamente cuando el proyectil esta en vuelo. El dispositivo iniciador puede, cuando se mantiene en su condicion segura, ser desviado con respecto a la carga explosiva principal y puede incorporarse o soportar un escudo colocado, en una condicion segura entre el dispositivo iniciador y la carga explosiva principal.
