    • Disclosed are methods and apparatus for controlling the transfer of data objects to a communication device. These data objects, or Phone Pages, supplement a primary communication session, such as a voice call, an e-mail exchange, or an instant message conversation. Several patents and patent applications describe such so-called Phone Pages systems. However, if unrestrained, the increased flow of data objects may be overwhelming, both for system users and for the system itself. This problem is solved by comparing one or more attributes of the data object to be transferred to a delivery profile, which may reflect a device user's preferences. An exemplary method disclosed herein comprises detectin (210,319) the occurence of a trigger event related to communication between two devices and identifying (220, 320) a data object in response and comparing (239, 340) at least one content atrribute for the data object to a pre-detertnined delivery profile corresponding to the 2nd device and selectively delivering (280, 350) the data object to the 2nd device based on the comparison.

    • A system and method of navigating among multiple real-time data streams on a mobile device is presented. Multiple thumbnail image representations are displayed (630) wherein each thumbnail image is associated with an available real-time data stream. A user provides navigation input (640) via a user interface for navigating among the multiple displayed thumbnail image representations. The thumbnail image representation currently selected based on the navigation input is highlighted (650) or otherwise made to stand out on the mobile device display. The user then selects (660) a highlighted thumbnail image representation, via the user interface, thereby activating the real-time data stream associated with the highlighted thumbnail image representation. This causes the real-time data stream associated with the selected highlighted thumbnail image representation to be displayed (670) on the mobile device display.

    • Techniques for processing data related to common interests of two or more users of a communication system are disclosed. In an exemplary method disclosed herein, the occurrence of a trigger event at a first communication device is detected (310), wherein the trigger event is related to communications between the first communication device and a second communication device. In response to the trigger event, the transmission of a first data object to the second communication device is initiated (330), wherein the first data object comprises information indicating one or more interests of a user of the first communication device.
