摘要： An image processing apparatus and method, and a program are provided to perform correction according to two-dimensional image processing for values of pixels constructing image data without depending on two-dimensional filtering. An image processing apparatus includes a horizontal image processor(21), a vertical image processor(22), a tilted image processor(23,24), a correction determination unit, and a corrector(30). The horizontal image processor performs image processing for the value of a noted pixel among pixels constructing image data using values of pixels including the noted pixel, which are arranged in the horizontal direction. The vertical image processor performs image processing for the value of the noted pixel using values of pixels including the noted pixel, which are arranged in the vertical direction. The tilted image processor carries out image processing using values of pixels arranged in a tilted direction different from the horizontal and vertical directions. The correction determination unit determines the quantity of correction for the value of the noted pixel based on the processing results of the vertical image processor, the horizontal image processor and the tilted image processor. The corrector adds the quantity of correction to the value of the noted pixel in order to correct the value of the noted pixel.

摘要： Boundaries between a plurality of different illuminations, even they exist, can be properly extracted by using an epsilon filter, and a subjectively preferable, dynamic-range compression is implemented with unnatural image patterns restricted. An edge strength G (x, y) is calculated for each position on an input image, and the threshold value E (x, y) of an epsilon filter (12) is controlled based on the edge strength G (x, y). The epsilon filter (12) performs filter processing on an input image based the controlled threshold value E (x, y). Since the threshold value E of the epsilon filter (12) is changed adaptively according to the local gradient of a pixel value I (x, y) based on the edge strength G (x, y), illumination boundaries can be extracted more accurately than when a linear low-pass filter or a threshold-value-fixed epsilon filter is used.

A horopter-plane image projection unit 311 is designed to project a non-stereo image supplied via a signal line 129 onto a cylindrical plane (horopter plane) including a horopter circle. The size of the horopter circle is specified using, for example, the radius as horopter circle information. Additionally, the relationship with two eyes is specified by the interocular distance. A display surface right-eye projection unit 316 is designed to project an image projected on the horopter plane onto a display surface for the right eye. A display surface left-eye projection unit 317 is designed to project the image projected on the horopter plane onto a display surface for the left eye. Therefore, retinal images that are identical to each other are supplied to the two eyes to remove influences of physiological stereoscopic elements, and stereoscopic depth is given.

摘要： A signal processing apparatus includes a nonlinear filter (12), a pattern detector (15), and a switch (16). The nonlinear filter filters an input image signal to the effect that a steep edge whose size is larger than a predetermined threshold determined from fluctuations of pixels of the input image signal is passed and, at the same time, smoothes a non-edge portion that does not include the edge. The pattern detector detects a fine edge in the fluctuations of the pixels constituting the input image signal and notifies the switch that the fine edge exists. The switch outputs the input image signal or the filtered image signal output from the nonlinear filter in accordance with the notification from the pattern detector (15).
