摘要： Catalysts for making unsatd. nitriles from olefins, NH3 and O2 or O2-contg. gases, or oxidation of olefins to O-contg. cpds. or dienes, consist of a mixture of O-contg. cpds. of U, Te and Mo, pref. the oxides, with or without an activator chosen from O-contg. cpds. of elements of gp. Ib, IIa, IIb, IIIa, IIIb, IVa, Va, Vb, VIb, VIIb and VIII corresp. to the formula: UaTebMocMedX in which Me is the activator element, pref. P, As, Sb or B, and X is O necessary to saturate the valencies of the other elements; a, b, c and d are the number of atoms of the different elements. If in the compsn., a = 1, then b is 1-8, pref. 2-5; c is 0.1-1, pref. 0.3-0.8 and d is 0-5, pref. 0-3. Used for making acrylonitrile and acrolein.

摘要： 1355004 Unsaturated aldehydes and nitriles SNAM PROGETTI SpA 25 Jan 1972 [25 Jan 1971] 3529/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] Unsaturated nitrile or unsaturated aldehyde is prepared from olefin by a process wherein a gaseous mixture comprising olefin, molecular oxygen, ammonia (when the desired product is nitrile) and, optionally, steam is contacted with catalyst which comprises, in oxygen-containing compound form, uranium and tellurium and molybdenum in the form of a composition containing, per atom of uranium, from 1 to 8 atoms of tellurium and at least 0À1 but less than 1 atom of molybdenum. The composition also may comprise, in oxygen-containing compound form, at least one "activator" element selected from the elements of Groups Ib, IIa, IIb, IIIa, IIIb (other than uranium), IVa, Va, Vb, VIb (other than molybdenum), VIIb and VIII, for example in an amount of up to 5 atoms of "activator" element(s) per atom of uranium; exemplified "activator" elements are boron, phosphorus, arsenic and antimony. The catalyst also may comprise carrier material, for example silica or titania, which may constitute from 5 to 95 weight per cent of the catalyst. Contacting may be effected at a temperature of from 300‹ to 550‹ C. (when the desired product is nitrile) or from 350‹ to 550‹ C. (when the desired product is aldehyde) and at a pressure which is at or slightly higher than atmospheric pressure; the catalyst may be in the form of a fixed bed or a fluidized bed. Examples prepare acrylonitrile and acrolein.

摘要： The mechanical and thermal properties of aluminum oxide, such as gamma alumina, adapted for use as a catalyst or catalyst carrier are improved through a treatment thereof with a silicon compound containing hydrolyzable radicals, such as methyl orthosilicate, in which the aluminum compound is impregnated with the silicon compound or a solution thereof in a compatible organic solvent whose boiling point is lower than the boiling point of the silicon compound. The impregnated aluminum oxide is slowly brought to the boiling temperature of the silicon compound in an inert atmosphere so as to cause silicon compound to react with the aluminum oxide and to distill off reaction products and excess silicon compound. The hydrolyzable groups bound to the silicon compound on the aluminum oxide are then reacted with water and distilled off.

摘要： A new series of compounds, represented by the formula: Cu, Mnx Mey Crz Ow, wherein Cu = copper, Mn = manganese, Me = nickel or cobalt, Cr = chromium, O = oxygen; x is a number from 1 to 2, inclusive, and zero when Me is Ni and y and z are not zero; y is a number from 1 to 6, inclusive, and zero when x and z are not zero; z is a number up to 3, and zero when Me is Co and x and y are not zero; w is the index of oxygen which satisfies the valencies of the metals, having regard for their indices in the formula, that are useful as catalysts in the oxidation to CO2 and H2O of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons contained in the exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, the preparation and the pretreatment thereof are disclosed.
