    • The invention relates to a device for hardening cylindrical bearing points (L) of a shaft (K) in which at least one of the transition radii (R1, R2) is configured as an indentation in the adjacent shaft parts (W1, W2). The inventive device has a pair of inductively working heating units (1, 2) which are each formed out of at least one inductor (3, 4) and which are connected to a power supply (5, 6). Said inductor comprises two interspaced heat conductor branches (20, 22; 21, 23) each running in a circumferential direction (U) of the bearing point (L). An outer heat conductor branch (20) of the inductor (4) of the first heating unit (2) is assigned to the first transition radius (R1), and an outer heat conductor branch (21) of the inductor (3) of the other heating unit (1) is assigned to the second transition radius (R2). Each of the inner heat conductor branches (22, 23) of the inductors (3, 4) are arranged next to one another by means of an adjusting device (11, 12). The adjusting device is provided for simultaneously advancing the inductors (3, 4) in the radial direction (R) onto the bearing point (L) which is to be hardened until the inductors (3, 4) rest on said bearing point (L). In this state, the heat conductor branches (20-23) at least partially encompass the bearing point (L). When viewed in a circumferential direction (U), the inner heat conductor branches (22, 23) of both inductors (3, 4) overlap without touching in an overlapping area (B). A second adjusting device (13, 14) is provided for moving at least the inductor (3, 4) after it is placed on the bearing point (L), said inductor being assigned to the indented transition radius (R1, R2). The inductor is moved via a movement (A) which is axially parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the shaft (K). The inductor is moved in the direction of the indented transition radius (R1, R2) until the outer heat conductor branch (20) of said inductor is inserted into the respective transition radius (R1, R2).
