    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of creating a reamer sized less than 7 mm for creating a bone tunnel during ligament reconstruction surgery.SOLUTION: The method includes steps of: placing through the femur a guide wire 40 that has a first end portion including a pointed tip and a second end portion; placing over the first end portion of the guide wire a drill mechanism that has a first end portion including a drill bit and a second end portion including an attachment portion; coupling to the attachment portion an adaptor assembly that has a shaft and can be locked to the guide wire; coupling a drill to the shaft and operating the drill to create a tunnel in the femur; coupling a drill bit assembly to the second end portion of the guide wire and locating the assembly against the drill bit of the attachment portion; and operating the drill to create a counter bore within the tunnel.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument, especially a suture passing device that can achieve easiness of an assembly, limitation of movable components, reduction in manufacturing cost and improvement in durability.SOLUTION: The surgical device includes: a first pinless coupling part turnably coupling a first jaw body to a second jaw body; a second pinless coupling part coupling a distal part of an actuating member to the first jaw body; and a third pinless coupling part coupling a handle with a proximal part of the actuating member. The third pinless coupling part converts a movement of the handle into an axial movement of the actuating member. The second pinless coupling part converts the axial movement of the operating member into a turnable movement of the first jaw body relative to the second jaw body around the first pinless coupling part. The third pinless coupling part converts the movement of the handle into the axial movement of the actuating member. The second pinless coupling part converts a turnable movement of the first jaw body relative to the second jaw body around the first pinless coupling part.
