摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath for fixing a soft tissue implant in a bone tunnel.SOLUTION: The sheath surrounds a bone screw and the soft tissue implant and improves fixation of the bone tunnel. In the simplest way, the sheath is a flexible mesh tube that surrounds only the bone screw, both of the bone screw and the implant, or only the implant. In other ways, the sheath include a plurality of tubes. The sheath for the implantable fixation device includes a flexible body having a reduced wall, the body defining an internal surface that is made to be a size and a shape adapted to house the fixation device. Preferably, the sheath includes the flexible body having an aperture wall and the internal surface is sized and shaped so that it can house the fixation device.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to a requirement of a technique to easily perform the operation of a surgical handpiece and an instrument to be mounted on the handpiece as far as possible and with little effort and without fault. SOLUTION: A surgical apparatus includes a body configured for insertion into a bore of the surgical handpiece and a latch that includes a resilient member 315 connected to the body. The apparatus has a latch having a latching structure configured to latchingly engage a surface of the surgical handpiece within the bore. The resilient member 315 is composed of a cantilevered arm and the latch includes a release portion 325 which is mounted on the cantilevered arm and operated by a user. The apparatus also comprises: a hub 320 for the surgical instrument; an outer member connected to the body and extended from the body to a tissue receiving opening at a distal end; an inner member that includes a surgical tool at the distal end for cutting the tissue, is arranged inside the outer member, and is rotatable relative to the outer member; and a driving shaft 350 that is connected to the inner member so as to rotate the inner member. In general, the devices include a portion that engages tissue near the target location and a section with an internal cavity that houses the drug. The drug can be incorporated into a controlled release agent, such as drug-polymer microspheres, which steadily or intermittently release the drug. Alternatively, instead of defining an internal cavity, the section can be formed from a material that includes the controlled release agent. The devices can be used, e.g., to deliver down-regulatory cytokines to a site of inflammation.

摘要： Systems, methods, and miniature instruments (e.g., 12, 30, 40, 50, and 102) are disclosed for minimally invasive surgical procedures. A miniature surgical instrument can be inserted directly into a body cavity (16) through a cannula (10, 118) in a way that a surgeon can insert his or her hand into the cavity (16) through a separate minimal incision and use the miniature instruments. A miniature surgical system can include: a cannula (10, 118) having a hollow body configured to receive a miniature surgical instrument (102) and a tether (13, 104) connected to the instrument; and a plunger (108) sized to engage a proximal end of the body and including a conduit (106) therethrough for receiving the tether. The system can also include the tether and the instrument. During use, the instruments can be quickly and safely removed from the body cavity to enable the surgeon to use his or her fingers, e.g., to manipulate tissue.
