摘要： The present invention relates to a method for encoding/decoding a motion vector and an apparatus thereof, and comprises the steps of: selecting a candidate motion vector set for a current motion vector, selecting a prediction motion vector from the candidate motion vector set, and judging whether or not the prediction motion vector is predictable in a decoding apparatus. If the prediction motion vector is predictable, the current motion vector is encoded using a motion vector prediction mode that indicates a prediction motion vector and a prediction possibility. If the prediction motion vector is not predictable, the current vector is encoded using a motion vector prediction mode that indicates a default prediction motion vector and a prediction impossibility. According to the invention, the method and the apparatus can provide information for searching for the prediction motion vector and share a certain function for the search without directly notifying the prediction motion vector for the current motion vector to the decoding apparatus so that the current motion vector may be encoded and/or decoded by selecting the prediction motion vector according to the motion vector prediction mode, and the motion vector prediction mode may be transmitted to the decoding apparatus. Therefore, the amount of encoded bits can be reduced and the performances of the motion vector prediction and compensation can be improved.

摘要： The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for image encoding/decoding using predictability of an intra-prediction mode. The image encoding apparatus of the present invention comprises: an intra-prediction mode determination unit for determining an encoder prediction mode which is an intra-prediction mode of the present block of image; an encoding unit for estimating the present block in accordance with the encoder prediction mode, and encoding the residual block using the difference between the estimated block and the present block; a mode information generating unit for generating mode information in accordance with whether or not the image decoding apparatus can predict the encoder prediction mode; and an encoded data generating unit for generating encoded data containing the encoded residual block and mode information. The present invention can enhance compression in image encoding/decoding by minimizing the number of bits for encoding information of an intra-prediction mode in image prediction using intra prediction.

The motion vector encoding apparatus of the present invention comprises: a predicted motion vector selector for selecting an optimum predicted motion vector from among the candidate motion vector group of the current block; a prediction mode determiner for selecting one motion vector prediction mode from among a plurality of motion vector prediction modes on the basis of the determination criteria previously agreed upon by a motion vector decoding apparatus, and determining the selected motion vector prediction mode as a motion vector prediction mode of the current block; and an encoder for determining the optimum predicted motion vector or a default predicted motion vector as a predicted motion vector for the current motion vector in accordance with the determined motion vector prediction mode, encoding a differential vector between the current block and the determined predicted motion vector, and selectively encoding the determined motion vector prediction mode in accordance with the determined motion vector prediction mode and outputting the encoded motion vector prediction mode in accordance with the determined motion vector prediction mode. The present invention reduces bit rates required for encoding a motion vector to thereby improve encoding efficiency, and prevents failures in the encoder even when an error occurs during encoding thereby improving the performance of the encoder.

According to the present invention, motion vectors are encoded by using more accurate predictive motion vectors, and there is no need to add information for identifying the predictive motion vectors to the encoded data, thereby improving the motion vector encoding efficiency.

The present invention selectively encodes mode information for the intra-prediction mode, and reduces the bit rate of encoded data obtained by encoding images, thereby improving image compression efficiency and the quality of compressed images.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to a video encoding/decoding method and provides a video encoding apparatus including: an intra-prediction mode determiner for determining an intra prediction mode of current block entitled an encoder prediction mode by using candidate intra-predictable mode set including intra-prediction mode candidates being selected from a whole and predictable by video decoding apparatus; an encoder for encoding residual block from subtracting predicted block from predicting the current block by the encoder prediction mode from current block; a mode information generator for generating mode information depending on whether the video decoding apparatus can predict the encoder prediction mode; and an encoded data generator for generating encoded data including an encoded residual block and the mode information. The present disclosure selectively encodes mode information on the intra-prediction mode to reduce the bit rate of encoded data from encoding video and improve video compression efficiency and quality of compressed video.
