摘要： An injector is automatic in that the needle insertion into the injection site (e.g., a patient's skin) is triggered by the user or caregiver, the insertion is automatic, the following delivery is automatically initiated upon needle insertion, and the needle is shielded automatically after the end of delivery. Preferably the user does not see the needle prior to, during, or after injection. The injector includes a proximal and distal housings and a needle shield arranged to slide on the distal housing. The injector has a driver arranged to move the syringe to cause the needle penetration, to inject the drug, and subsequently to release the shield. The syringe needle is shielded and the shield locked automatically after delivery is completed. The patient does not experience any injector force on the tissue during injection. The injector has built in patient safety features.

摘要： A medical injection device is provided which includes a shield system and a syringe. The shield system includes a housing (100), a shield (200) telescopically received in the housing (100) and slidably coupled to the housing and a driver (300) that pushes the syringe stopper (510) to cause drug injection. The driver (300) is equipped with sensing elements (342) that automatically detect empty syringe. A spring (400) resiliently urges the shield (200) from a retracted position to an extended position shielding the needle (530). The syringe is coupled to the housing (100). The shield (200) is positioned externally to the syringe and the driver (300). The shield (200) includes flexible latches (210) to keep its position relative to the housing during storage and use. The axial movement of the driver (300) in respect to the syringe causes an automatic release of the spring (500) by sensors (342) when the syringe is empty, allowing the spring (500) to move and lock the shield (200) in the extended position after use.

The housing (100) and shield (200) form a cartridge enclosure. The cartridge (500) is shielded and locked after delivery is completed. A needle-locking mechanism can be used in any number of pen-like injectors or safety needles.

摘要： This reconstitution and injection system delivers a drug in solution under pressure, and injects powdered or lyophilized drugs that require reconstitution, rehydration or dilution. In one embodiment, the system includes a syringe having a barrel, a plunger, a handle, a pump and a channel communicating the barrel with an injection needle. The pump pushes a liquid from the barrel through the injection needle via the channel upon fluid communication between the barrel and the injection needle for delivery of the liquid. In another embodiment, the system includes a first port receiving a syringe, a second port receiving a drug vial, a channel providing communication between the first and second ports, and a controller permitting or inhibiting fluid communication between the first and second ports. In yet another embodiment, the system includes an actuator and a housing having a channel providing fluid communication between a reservoir and the injection needle.
