    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate mounting of an encoder.
      SOLUTION: An encoder for detecting measured values, which depend on the rotating angle between a shaft and a housing containing the shaft, a stator 20 which is secured to the housing, a rotor 30 which is secured to the shaft, and a sensor which detects the rotation of the rotor 30 relative to the stator 20. A spring washer 42 with supporting points 44 rests on the circumference of the stator 20. In the mounting process the encoder is positioned on the shaft until the stator 20 is axially braced against the housing with the supporting points 44 of the spring washer 42. In this auxiliary position the rotor 30 is fixed in position on the shaft. Then the stator 20 is pressed against the housing while working against the force of the spring washer 42 and is secured to the housing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotation detector capable of minimizing the undefined play in a gear coupling of gears between a rotor and a multiplex winding unit.
      SOLUTION: A housing, the rotor unrotatablly combined with a drive shaft which rushes in into the housing and which is to be measured, and measured for the angular position within one revolution, and the multiplex winding unit supported with the housing and measuring the number of the rotation of the rotor are included. The multiplex winding unit is coupled to the rotor through a gear transmission device which has a drive spur gear 10 combined with the rotor and a driven spur gear 12 of the multiplex winding unit. The head of every second tooth 16 of one spur gear 10 is shortened to the pitch circle. The bottom of every second tooth groove 18 of the other spur gear 12 is filled up to the pitch circle. The teeth of the spur gears 10, 12 are cut helically, and the inclination angle of a helical tooth profile is defined so as to always engage at least one tooth 16.
