摘要： MODIFIED POWDER OR PARTICULATE MATERIAL A modified powder or particulate material having a silicone polymer film coated on substantially the entire surface thereof, this powder or particulate material being produced by bringing at least one silicone compound, in the form of a vapor, having the general formula (I): (R1HSiO)atR2R3SiO)b(R4R5R6SiO?)c (I) wherein R1, R2, and R3 represent, independently, hydrogen or a hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, which may be substituted with at least one halogen atom, provided that R1, R2, and R3 are not hydrogen at the same time, R4, R5, and R3 represent, independently, hydrogen or a hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, which may be substituted with at least one halogen atom, a is zero or an integer of 1 or more, b is zero or an integer of 1 or more, and c is zero or 2, provided that c is 2 when a and b are simultaneously zero and a + b is an integer of 3 or more when c is zero, into contact with a powder or particulate material having an active site on the surface thereof, whereby the silicone compound is polymerized on substantially the entire surface of the powder or particulate material.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a modified powder whose surface activity is killed by bringing a powder having active sites on its surface into contact with a specified silicone compound in the form of a vapor and polymerizing the silicone compound on the entire surface of the powder. CONSTITUTION:A powder having active sites on the surface (e.g. inorganic pigment, a metal oxide, an organic pigment, a silicate mineral, carbon or a metal) is brought into contact with at least one silicone compound of the formula [wherein R , R and R are each a (halogen-substituted) 1-10C hydrocarbon group; R , R and R are each H or a (halogensubstituted) 1-10C hydrocarbon group; a is 0, b is 0 or an integer >=1; and c is 0 or 2, and when c is 0, the sum of a and b is an integer >=3] in the form of a vapor, thereby depositing the silicone compound on the entire surface of the powder and polymerizing the silicone compound by the active sites distributed on the entire surface of the powder to form a uniform thin polymer film. In this way, a modified powder whose surface activity is killed can be obtained. This modified powder neither denatures nor decomposes the coexistent perfume, oil, resin or the like, so that it can be used in many fields.
